The reality is that there isnt a 2nd scrypt coin worth mining, PERIOD, even if its mergemined for free, you should NOT support scams like Novacoin and pump-n-dump coins with massive premine like FC.

Not that I know of.  Remember mm is a forking change,  it requires code support in the coin and enough people to switch to that version to get it to do so.   I have yet to hear of anyone making a mm scrypt coin.

The blockchain has to be modified to accept other blockchain's PoW's. The way merged mining works with bitcoin and namecoin is that the namecoin block chain agrees to accept a special transaction hash in the bitcoin block as proof of work for a namecoin block.

RIP my old pools... sometimes BTC isn't life ;(

Charlie Kelly: I'm pleading the 5th.  The Attorney: I would advise you do that.  Charlie Kelly: I'll take that advice under cooperation, alright? Now, let's say you and I go toe-to-toe on bird law and see who comes out the victor?  The Attorney: You know, I don't think I'm going to do anything close to that and I can clearly see you know nothing about the law.

FC was not premined. PERIOD. pre = before. Nobody started mining until it was open to the public. If you weren't on the forum then that's too bad for you. It was "mined without warning" but it definitely was not "premined"

I'd love to see MM implemented into a scrypt coin or coins. Even if the coin is worthless, MM is fun.

it was effectively premined by the dev and his buddies.
3 million coins in the first day. blocks were being found every 5-10 seconds.

I'm not his buddy.  Never talked to the guy.  And I got quite a few coins.

Basically we need a "bitcoin with ONLY the merged mining patches applied" repo to start from, regardless of whether we are going to then proceed to replace the hashing code with scrypt code or not.

All merged mined coins, regardless of which hashing algo they end up using, would benefit if from time time time a recent version of bitcoin was taken and the merged mining patches applied to it.

Then anyone working on any coin, even those making yet another new coin from scratch, can simply start from the latest "bitcoin with ONLY the merged mining patches applied" repo instead of the plain old bitcoin repo when updating or creating their coin if they want to include merged mining ability in their coin.

No it wasn't. Look in the thread it was already at page 7 or 8 by the end of the first day, there were plenty of us that didn't know the dev at all.

Here we go again, I knew about FC from day one.

I knew it from the Trollbox.

People tryed to get others in for the minning.

While I knew, I laughed it off and continued to mine only  litecoins for a week.

Who is to blame that I have only a few hundred FC now???

Is it the Developer?
