Chinese Tencent Joins Blockchain Race

The Chinese Internet giant Tencent is building its own Blockchain for enterprise-level services. Its platform, TrustSQL, aims to provide all the tools necessary for developing Blockchain applications for businesses. Tencent, as part of the so-called BAT group along with Baidu and Alibaba, is known for its tenacity in disruptive financial technologies, with all three outfits working at breakneck speed to update the Chinese domestic market before traditional banks.

Baidu and Alibaba is huge, but if they going to focus on creating their own Blockchain based technologies, then Bitcoin will suffer because of this.

I would much rather want them to only focus on Bitcoin based applications. There are too many companies shifting focus to "centralized" private

ledgers and so-called Blockchain based technologies. Why not just use the technology that are out there already?
