There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

if you aren't verified with mt gox then the transfer isn't supported at all.  if you are verified the faq says 24 to 48 hours.  sounds like a support ticket is in order

Deposits have to be reviewed by their AML team, which doesn't work on weekends. Due to the time difference, you'll probably see your money show up Sunday night.

I'm thinking gox still processes dwolla transactions by hand... if that's AML stuff then they only work weekdays... I know that it's not much better on the out side... usually takes 4 or 5 days to hit dwolla.

It was a public holiday in Japan on Monday so it's unlikely anything which needed doing manually would have been touched over the long weekend.

Dwolla's an absolute pain in the ass for Bitcoin exchanges to deal with as they're subject to special rules imposed by Dwolla.

Since May last year, you've needed to be a verified customer in order to use Dwolla on MtGox, even for deposits.  Have you even applied for verified status and submitted your ID to them yet?

All I can say is that this is Bitcoin. I don't believe it until I see six confirmations.
