The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

That transaction is using an input that it isn't confirmed (yet) and also it's a long tail or chain of other transactions with similar behaviors:

This should receive confirmations 1st: https://blockchain.info/tx/945b207f4b3195896a496e58c98b5989eaae490c2584809de44e00cf25c373da
Then this: https://blockchain.info/tx/7ffe8dba65de5b9a39e48ea9f06b1d4223d31ddb90b2cd44c1356b3ef77dac31
And lastly the transaction you linked: https://blockchain.info/tx/afc0d096843d41675ce7ee0947378428440db488a8150a4393fef9e1775755ad

Contact one of the following users to help you sort this out (in exchange for some fees):

1. macbook-air: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=16114
2. Quickseller: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=358020

Update:
That is not the first in the chain. Go up one more, https://blockchain.info/tx/a6292e4e3458134fedc8b95f1943e7ac2188ef28cfbef5da410624ef2f60c5a5 is the first transaction in the chain that needs to confirm.
Thank you for the correction, I somehow missed it.

Note that they do not have to confirm in order and can all confirm at the same time.
Yes, that's correct (since they could be included in a same block, but highly unlikely due to included low fee) but I was explaining it in a natural and normal way that they should be.

ViaBTC won't be applicable to his case since the included fee, is below the minimum requirement.

You sent nearly two and a half thousand dollars in Bitcoin without using a normal fee?!

Nearly any wallet will tell you vaguely what fees to set.  You needed to set a fee of at least 100 satoshi per byte, and if you actually wanted it to confirm, between 200 and 300 satoshi.  That transaction is going to sit in the mempool for ages, and it'll probably get back to you eventually instead of confirming at all.

It doesn`t matter which wallet do you use, its important how big fee you pay for your transaction. You have transaction accelerators, you can try to use some of this services to push transaction. Couple days ago I waited more then 5 days to receive some coins, I tried to push the transaction with accelerator, but all I got is the message `transaction fee is to low`.
We can`t do much about this, I can`t choose fee when someone is sending me coins. All we can do is to wait, and to hope that this will solved soon.

Well my wallet has no option of increasing fees and I did try to accelerate transaction but also got the "transaction fee is to low" message. At this point, I must confess, I would have to cease using btc.

A better suggestion would be to cease using a poorly written wallet that doesn't assist you in paying an appropriate fee for fast confirmation.

Yeah  he did 8 sats a byte on one of the payments.  No wallet should do this.

If you have 20+ sats a byte  you can use the transaction accelerator option from  viabtc.com

but if you go under 20+ sats a byte  nogo.

https://www.viabtc.com/

So all wallets should force you to pay 21 sats a byte or higher.

Suggested fees below
https://bitcoinfees.21.co/

suggests at least 141-160 sats a byte  for pretty fast confirm.

Now in my case this address below gets many deposits and transfers

https://blockchain.info/address/16yLHLoeyuCLPMXkVpC3gyrRYvwRGwjKJr

I manually  set  a 40-60 sat  payment per byte  then go to viabtc.com and accelerate the payment.

if the transaction was   10000 bytes I pay 0.005 at 50 sats

if I paid the 180 sats a byte  it would have been .018 payment

big difference.

The op paid 0.00000008  btc a byte   no wallet should allow for that.

If the op was able to override payment level and so the small payment    the wallet should still have a minimum  level of 0.00000021  which would give him an option  to use viabtc.com

In his case 0.00000008  is under that.

Wait till tomorrow as within 2 days, the transaction gets rejected by the node and then you can resend the bitcoins with the appropriate fee (like in your case it is 0.0002 BTC). Use blockchain.info or a better wallet like xapo if you're interested in using online wallets as you can get an idea of what fee you should pay and xapo pays the fee on your behalf which is better.

1. That is possibly the most ridiculous thing I have read today... "All wallets should use X fee so people can use a Third Party Acceleration service to attempt to prioritise their low fee transactions"??!?  Roll Eyes

2. You're wrong... the minimum required fee is 10 sats/byte:

With the Transaction Accelerator for delayed transactions, users can submit any TXID that includes a minimum 0.0001BTC/KB fee to ViaBTC.

In any case, users should just take Danny's advice and use proper wallets that either set proper fees automagically... or let the users use proper fees...

... Use blockchain.info or a better wallet like xapo if you're interested in using online wallets as you can get an idea of what fee you should pay and xapo pays the fee on your behalf which is better.
Actually, I was wrong above... this is the most ridiculous things I have read today...  Roll Eyes

For one, Xapo is a terrible service and is not a proper wallet... you have no access to your private keys... Also, if Xapo is paying the fee on your behalf, how can you get any idea of what fee you should pay?

I know that xapo doesn't let users control their private keys and hence even recommended blockchain so that the user gets an idea of what fee should be paid. Xapo paying the fee on the user's behalf makes the transaction get confirmed faster compared to blockchain where sometimes despite of paying the right fee, the transaction takes hours to confirm. Xapoo pays 225-400 sats/byte.
