It's not dead but I haven't had time to work on it much in the last two months. It is difficult to try to program something that requires intricate testing in 2-3 hour bursts between work and life. I'm going to try to refocus for the next month or two to get the protocol up to an alpha testing ready stage and then set up the forum and wiki to get some details and discussion going. It is still going to be a ways out from that though.

it has been "or five" already still nothing Yeah it is sad, as I think this coin has potential. I think Etlase3 is coding this in his spare time, and apparently he doesn't have much spare time. He hasn't even logged on since January, so I'm not sure if he is even working on it anymore.

Decrits as a project is dead in his basement. Etlase should be hiring 2-3 coders for help and raising funds on some platform for it. My friend said that he will establish domains decrits.net and decrits.org with docs and forums on DCR. So watch on them. After cool trolling here, he likely will discuss developments there.

"your friend said"? I'm still around. Decrits did go on hold for awhile, longer than I wanted. I'm working on it again and that's about all I'll say at this point.

Yes, Mr Smartmin, exactly Still we with friend think that to get (crowd)funds will be better. This can speed up your development efforts. Or Ethereum will outpace DCR. ETH is a platform with built-in language. I guess it will be capable to emulate DCR to some degree as a subcurrency. Cryptomoney pond is quite shallow, not much money and persons in it. So first to come with half-ready product will win...

Yay, he's back. Was close to crossing Decrits off the list of coins to follow... Not really, but I did consider it.

This has some promising aspects to it but has already fallen short on too many things.

A curious post. Why use a sockpuppet to write something so mundane? It kind of narrows you down to about one person anyway.

Would it be possible to use a web-of-trust system to automatically resolve forks that occur when a node is offline? This would just be a way of formalizing and automating the current plan to have nodes ask around about what exactly happened when they weren't looking, I think.
