I seriously doubt this petition will do anything to move Google's hand.

I don't know... Just watched Mike Hearn, a Software Engineer at Google, talking about the long-term, potential evolutionary dynamics of Bitcoin use at Bitcoin 2012 like it's a fait de compli going forward.  I'm too stupid to understand some of it but there is some pretty cool ideas being bandied about.  I understand that functional Bitcoin integration into web browsers themselves has already begun at an R & D level also, not sure if that's accurate or not.

+1 That was a really good video thanks.

Not being a programmer some of the deeper (stub?) code is totally of my radar so its fascinating ad very reassuring to see that Satoshi had a lot of this planned out.

I do worry though without a single very good architect at the helm dictating development steerage that the design can become bloated and loose its direction. Design minimalism is an absolute here, especially with a  protocol as security reliant as Bitcoin.

Having found out about these features has made me even more confident in the Bitcoin system which I didn't think would be possible. This has hardly begun!
