Hey,

I understand this is the NewBie section and it seems everyone is just trying to get rid of their NewBie status... and it's difficult to get any help.

So any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

I had my rig of a ASUS P5K SE and 5970 working flawless until I believe I killed the MOBO.  So I bought a old Asus Striker Extreme only to find that it's got Nvidia chips and it doesnt even let an ATI card be recognized.  I've installed the new BIOS drivers and still the screen is blank.  When I got a Nvidia card in there, no problem!  Boots up fine.  So I figure i'm throwing in the towel on this board.

Next up, I had some older HP 7600 machines.  They have a onboard VGA.. it works fine.  But as soon as I boot up with a ATI in the PCIex16 Slot... nothing!  I tried with a Nvidia card, it works fine!  I've also tried several ATI cards and nothing on boot up.  I've tried playing with the BIOS and disabling the onboard VGA through Device Manager.

So i'm at a stand still, slightly frustrated.  To the point where I'm about to go buy the cheapest AMD & MOBO combo, with as many PCIe slots as possible.

For the sake of mining feasibility and my wallet....If anyone is able to see a solution to this problem... please respond. Smiley

Thanks Smiley
