Recently, I was sold something, which didn't work(to maintain the anonymity of the product, I will just it didn't work here). I haven't approached the person, but if I do, I feel that user might just not refund or fix it for me since their account value is probably not that much either and they don't have much trust.

I can however reverse scam them in someway to get back the money or value of what I lost in that error.

Should I contact them and ask them to fix it, or should I reverse scam them, and then start dialogue ? The whole think boils down to them just not caring about their account trust after I start an accusation about them.

Thanks for any inputs on this.

If you're asking this forum a question about morals, well...

What you described is very vague, and it sounds shady to begin with.  But of course you ought to try to sort out the issue with the other person.  That's usually the right thing to do.  "Reverse-scamming" is usually the wrong thing to do, and most honest people here will tell you the same thing.

Fix your initial deal instead of creating a second one that's messed up too.

Thank you guys for the reply. I didn't know where else to post this. I will do just that then.

I don't believe in revenge, but this is not exactly revenge. Its just about getting my money back.
