blockchain.info sees my coins, bitcoind does not

I recently made my first purchase of BTC through BitInstant, and I'm confused why I can't see my coins yet.

I can see the incoming transaction to my address here: https://blockchain.info/address/14qpKBgU6JPhraJmmKwbUFxPLGE8vj5BMR

But the following shows no transactions: bitcoind getreceivedbyaddress 14qpKBgU6JPhraJmmKwbUFxPLGE8vj5BMR

my first guess would be that your bitcoind hasn't finished synchronizing the blockchain.
