Have been browsing speculation board a lot past few days.

Am surprised how few posts are actually made.

Another confirmation for me that a market cap of a few billion is hard to sustain at this point.

Since the price of bitcoin after all depends foremost on the amount of speculators.

There are a lot of posts from people who have tried to graph out google searches with prices. The results are always indecisive as it depends on who is interpreting them.

I would say that almost none of the new serious money would stay more than a few minutes in this particular subforum, if not for fun.

Take a look.  There are a few informed posts which are of limited help.  Then there are lots of posts that go "I want to buy cheap so here I am predicting prices will go through the floor." and "I want to sell at a profit so here I am predicting prices will go through the ceiling."

Now compare all this to the sheer volume of transactions on the exchanges and its clear that only a tiny percentage of buyers and sellers are active here.

'amount of speculators' is a bit vague.  If you meant the number of speculators then I would disagree that it is primarily the driver.  Closer to the mark might be volume held by speculators - or did you mean volume traded by speculators?

Whichever it was I doubt I doubt there's a correlation between that and the number of posts here that could be of any predictive value in determining price.

But those looking for 'another confirmation' to feel more confident about their belief - whether up or down - will find it almost anywhere if they look hard enough Grin
