I think that it is still the easiest, but it won't be viable once the ASICs flood the market.  Trusting and running the ASICs is getting easier...

these are bitcoin (double sha) miners

not ltc (scrypt)!

no asic as of today mines u litecoins

Mining LTC with a GPU is the best way now and in the foreseeable future.

ASICs can't be used to mine LTC, but BTC miners are going to switch to mining LTC with their GPUs.
