Been wondering what happened to the site, it's been complaining about Mt.Gox being down for at least a week.

My messages to the administrator on reddit have gone unanswered for about a week as well. I sent an email to him today, maybe he'll reply.

Anyone possibly got anymore information?

Well I'm trying to get out of this damn newbie cage to post it where it won't be buried by spam.

Still no reply to my email. I think he jumped ship and bolted. Dunno.

Just curios, did he have coins of yours?

I heard about this, seemed like a good idea, scams are not a surprise though.

http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1dagep/does_anyone_know_what_happened_to_steambits/

After I submitted this to reddit he apparently found that post and decided to put his site into maintenance mode.

I think he owes the community an explaination.

Could have got a C&D from Steam. Reselling Steam game gifts is a ToS violation.
I assume you have an outstanding order?

You assume wrongly, sir.

Also to my knowledge he was not reselling steam gifts, but actually buying them and gifting the game to you.

Or giving you a key.

Well, if anyone REALLY wants, I could make a similar site offering the same thing.
I would need a good suggestion for the name though.

This is still a VERY lazy dude running steambits. I am waiting 5 days now for Civ V. Games in 24h... what a joke.
There is not even a reply to a mail I wrote 2 days ago.

Anyways... Russian steam keys are cheaper.

Ok. I got the key yesterday. It was also partly my fault:

I did the payment directly from mtgox. I did not hit the checkbox "open transaction" on withdrawal because I thought it would be faster. It was faster.
The problem is that the shop owner is looking for payments on blockchain.info. When you don't hit "open transaction" you won't never see a payment on blockchain.info. More info on this topic: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=74187.0

So if you consider to pay directly form gox, don't forget to make a open transation.

Is it? I've never heard of this after several years of Steam trading. Can you link me to the portion of the ToS where it says this?
