Hi everyone just thoght i would say hi, being new to mining and that,

i am currently mining Ltc,

running the following machines

Single Unit x 2 with 1x radeon 7970 in each hashing around 650kh/s             0%stales

double unit with x2 radeon 7970 in hashinh 1100kh/s                                 19.11% stales

double unit with x2radeon 5970 hashing 1350kh/s                                     17.53% stales

single unit with 1xradeon 5970 hashin around 700kh/s                               16% stales

Any suggestions my stale rate is quite high i am assuming

I am using notroll.in

i am getting a total of 4400kh/s and about 10 ltc per 24 hours....

am i losing coins because of my stales???

Thanks
Phil

yes, you should try to minimize stales.

I think stales are mostly caused by your distance from the pool (correct me if i'm wrong), have you tried another pool?, preferably one closer where you are?

Are you using the same mining software on the 650kh/s, you should be getting at least a couple of stales, 0% looks like it's not reporting correctly.

Stale shares are shares for a certain block sent after that block was solved, so they are no longer valid.
To avoid stale shares, you need to have a reasonably fast mining computer, stable internet connection and good mining software. Wink

ok i am using notroll :6332 it says if in europe use eu.notroll.in in cg miner, would this reduce the amount of stales?? if i was to point at the server eu.notroll.in instead of notroll.in?

Internet connection is the fastest from provider.

Talking about the general price of LTC how does anyone think the price will go i see the general trend is going up will this go the same way as BTC or become a dead coin?Huh

Thanks
I think that if you use eu.notroll.in instead of notroll.in it will become faster, but not much if you already have a fast internet connection.
I am from Europe too and I pinged both hosts:
notroll.in gives me a ping of 92 ms
eu.notroll.in gives me a ping of 23 ms

LTC is looking like a great investment at this point, both through mining and purchase.
MtGox has suggested that they will be adding LTC support in the near future and when this happens a lot of people are expecting the price to increase significantly.
