How many celebrities or high profile individuals do you know of that owns and support Bitcoin? I think if we can get some high profile users, we might get some good exposure going forward. When Playboy started out, they realized that they should start the magazine with a BANG, so they bought nude pictures of the most well known person in the world at the time and put her on the front page. <--- Marilyn Monroe ... This put them on the map and they built a global empire. Who will be our Marilyn Monroe? So far we have had some high profile users like Mike Tyson and Ashton Kutcher, but we need a globally recognized ambassador for Bitcoin... our very own, Marilyn Monroe. They always hide and even make purchases anonymously, because what then is the meaning of the advantages of crypto currency. And at the same time, bitcoins are not yet everywhere real, so everyone keeps information about their possession in secret.

I think they must be aware about bitcoins and even invested their money in it but they will never disclose that they know bitcoins or have invested money in it as they must be scared of Government as nothing has been announced officially yet.

Legends Room has several celebrities as token holders like Flo Rida.
Token holders don't count. Flo Rida doesn't give a sh*t about bitcoin...his agent or someone just said "do this to get exposure". Much like owning private keys, if the celebrity doesn't own a wallet, they're not even close to being a bitcoin owner. I haven't heard of ANY celebrities talk of bitcoin. And on the non-celebrity list, Sean Spicer (Trump's Press Parrot, err Secretary) posted his bitcoin address on twitter back in January, then he deleted. Some people think he may have been verifying his identity with the post. Article: http://gizmodo.com/did-sean-spicer-probably-didnt-tweet-a-nefarious-bitcoi-1794862780EDIT: There's speculation that Spicey didn't actually post the bitcoin address, but that someone else did...for some unknown reason. bitcoin runs by itself and its fame now, does not look at who will invest, no matter who it is, the obvious fame comes from itself (bitcoin)

I understand your point but... Unlike Playboy, bitcoin is not trying to sell something tangible. It is a new kind of service and it was designed to allow users to remain anonymous. Celebrities boastng with bitcoins are actually in total contradiction with bitcoin principles. The community is growing, bit after bit. We are developping new business models, more services.. We don't have to get ad the way large companies do. Bitcoin is an opportunity, not a billable-advertisable thing!

If you had hundreds of millions of dollars, would you want your community to know about it? Most likely not. Especially if it's all the rave now (whatever you made your money from) as it would lure all types of criminals in. It's best to keep it private, plus that's the whole point of the blockchain. Safe, secure and pseudonymous.

I think there is no need to do this to find some celebrities just to promote bitcoins. If i am celebrity i dont need to go out and tell the world that i am owning a multi millions of dollars worth of bitcoins. The main principle of bitcoin is to maintain the bitcoin owner as a anonimous so that no one can lacate how many you are holding.

There are indeed celebrities who own bitcoins such as Lilly Allen, Mel B, and Drew Carey, among many others. As for that “Marilyn Monroe” of bitcoin, attaining that would be not so viable due to the anonymity that users want.

I think that even if celebrities invest in bitcoin, and if they smart they do not say about it. It's just an asset that grows, and which is not so easy to detect, unlike buying a new home or an luxery car.

Most of them are hiding their identity in order for them to excuse in taxes. We all know that bitcoin is decentralized and it is good to store bitcoin because no one will ask and enter to your asset.

If the celebrity bought or hold bitcoin for trading or for the other reason, i am sure they will have alot of bitcoin. And normally, big player is anonymous and difficult to find them.

I understand your topic & i never heard about celebrity bitcoin owners. But personally i believe that they should involve and promote this. If so it will be more important to bitcoin future.
