Hey, I am new to the mining consept and i am very much enthusiast about it.

Right now my computer specs aren't really good and i am trying to make the best out of them.

I have an Alienware m15x notebook with: i7 740QM and a iGPU-> Nvidia GTX 460M 1.5GB (Not so much that i can do with it  Undecided )

nevertheless, I am researching for an eGPU upgrade to my system but right now i am having trouble understanding what i need to buy and if my specific laptop can use a eGPU.
basically what i want to do is buying a new desktop video card and assemble it to my notebook as an external card.

Can you help me understand what i need to accomplish that and if you can also recommend me of a good ( \best) video card to buy.

Thank you

Ray

get an AMD card, preferably 58xx (best cost-performance)

It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

It depends how much $$$ you are willing to invest into hardware. The 6990 is THE best card on the market, however it takes a while for them to arrive at your door, because apparently they have to be ordered AND THEN made.

Like the guy above me said, the 58xx series ain't bad if you are looking for low cost yet decent returns.
