So, I tried sending to an exchange. Sent on the 5th. Still unconfirmed. Used lowest txfee. https://blockchain.info/address/14XknsfpDYGV4pusK7b8bsixDQER4PZok9
The chances are you wont get that transaction confirmed and if you are lucky they might reject that transaction because with a 1 sat/B it wont reach anyone, for a standard transaction to get through with the current congestion you need to include 60 sat/B .I know it is frustrating but the fact is bitcoin cannot be used for smaller transactions with the network situation we are in.
Oboy, I lost a few bucks in BTC. Wow. goddamnit.
If the transaction is rejected by the node then you might get back the coin,so do not worry about that, but it might take a very long time up to a month to get back those coins,it all depends upon your luck, when i started bitcoin what attracted me is that we could send smaller transaction as well as large transactions with a small fees, but things have changed quickly.

Like others pointed out Coinbase has started charging a fees and they are charging a really high price. I personally use the old version of multibit, and using that I am able to set the fees to a lower value .I do get it confirmed in a few hours usually by just adding 0.00019 btc of fees. You should probably do the same thing for your future transactions.

For me I just pay the regular fee and it still gets confirmed although it takes long most of the time and right now the traffic is congested so I'd rather wait for hours than pay additional fees it would still go through anyway. If you want lower transaction fee I guess you can use some web wallets that allows transfers with lesser fees like coins.ph in the Philippines and blockchain web wallet.

Wtf happened to btc? Why is it so high?

I mean what the fuck is going on in 2017?

You are not the only one who is disappointed about the unreasonable increase in the miner fees. Compared to before the fees have increased ten times compared to before and it is really discouraging. The problem lies on the spam attacks on the blockchain that caused the miners to charge the bitcoin users a high transaction fee per transaction. There is nothing we can do but to oblige.

Ok, this is what I did.

Code:
Status: 0/unconfirmed, in memory pool, has not been successfully broadcast yet
Date: 5/10/2017 11:33
To: 14XknsfpDYGV4pusK7b8bsixDQER4PZok9
Debit: -0.00183784 BTC
Transaction fee: -0.00000224 BTC
Net amount: -0.00184008 BTC
Transaction ID: 58630cc05fa6363bbec037a3aaef11b88f3f9efab9aadd201f4b563cce337386
Transaction total size: 224 bytes
Output index: 0\

used https://bitsusd.com/
60Sats=mBTC 0.0006

So I inputted 0.0006 for the transaction fee of 0.00184008.

Should it make it to the address of the pool now?

Thanks.

Yup, this is my last round with bitcoin.
Transaction fee's are to high. Even a pool operator states we cannot have our MINED btc because of phenomenal fees.

The problem is this stupid debate over SegWit and Bu, they are fighting over  like a kids, they don't sit down and talk to see that they have the same goal - to make btc better for everybody.... there are like 220k+ transactions in mempool right now with too many transactions people tend to pay higher fee to transfer their coins. Just look here : https://blockchain.info/unconfirmed-transactions says 235k atm. I wonder why price is raising when we can see that btc can't be used as a fast currency to do the transactions...

Haha.
Been away for about 5 weeks now. I just checked bitcoinfees21 and wow.

5 weeks ago, fastest and cheapest suggested fee was around 250/byte. Now it's at 410. That's just.  Sad
(210 * 410 = .00086 = $1.66 )
The most basic transaction now costs almost 2$. It's like, either pay up or wait hours, if not days.  Cry
Better maximize and utilize every single transaction.

Are you saying you dont enjoy the fee of buying into btc from usd and then fee of transfering!!! Round here the consensus is that fees are a privledge. Hehe.

I agree with you though. Buy into btc and convert into something else to transfer. Then convert back to btc. Its cheaper that way.

Yeah it is better to use the trading websites for transactions. They are just using the miners fee and not more. They are way faster too than the online wallets.  Grin
I dont know what is happening but this should be fixed. A lot of people are getting restless now because of this dilemma that is happening with the bitcoin community.

I just laughed at my transaction fee.
Way too high for just sending a million satoshis.
I guess they are forcing us to keep our bitcoin and just do a bulk transaction rather than small ones.
But what about those merchants who sells things and also the buyers who will buy the item and spend more just because of transaction fees.
Instead of saving, they paid more.

I certainly don't wish that bitcoin will crash, but that said, it isn't banking industry at all. Otherwise, there would be an operator with huge interest in getting his network back to normal operations.

Just have a look at the backlog vs. fees - looks like we won't even get down to 100 000 (hundred thousand) unconfirmed transactions this weekend: https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#30d

Bitcoin technology has been over capacity for 3 weeks now, no signs of improvement :-(

I can't even get few dollars to an exchange and its pissing me off. This is the third time trying to use minimum fee's but the bitcoin client custom fee input that I inputted is totally different from the blockchain.

So, it's gonna stay unconfirmed again for days on days.

ROFL, IKR!! The fee on blockchain is really ridiculous, so damn high up to 0.001+. I think it's because so many unconfirmed transaction and it's make the fee become high for faster confirmation. But still, it's so damn high!

Gone are the days when you could buy a cup of coffee with Bitcoin. Now it will become more and more of a speculative instrument again than a mass adopted merchant tool. Bitcoin will end up being just a store of wealth for Whales. It's so costly for me to send small amounts of bitcoin now under 100 USD that I don't bother anymore sending bitcoin that is less than 0.1 btc.
