so can you tell me what thread concurrency you are using? i use 217xx and need ~1500gb ram per card
3 cards was the limit for 4gb running on win7 64 with cgminer

the ram does not show as "used" in task manager but unless you have enough ram cgminer throws errors...

The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

If you want to waste your money on RAM for a litecoin mining rig that isn't need, go ahead.

I'm done.  Grin
Exactly. Let those people waste their money.
I am in the similar boat with you, running 4x 7950 on a 2gb ram.

Then you are doing something very very wrong. No way it uses that much ram.

I like the Gigabyte 7950s, and actually have 7 of them, but they do run hot inside a case if you don't have very good airflow.

Whichever card is plugged into PCI-E slot 1 also seems to run very hot, so they do much better in an open case using risers.

They come factory overclocked at 1000/1250, and do over 600k mining litecoin without additional over clocking.

I really like these cards, but keep an eye on temps if you use them in a closed case and plug the cards directly into the mobo.
They suck a lot of power though. At least 50w more than other 7950 cards. I guess the extra KH has to come from somewhere.

I downgraded the BIOS on all of my Gigabyte 7950's to F43, and they run 5-10c cooler, and draw about 50w less...
