泰国海军周一表示，应对“地区的安全不确定性”是其购买中国潜艇的动机，军方的决定是为了泰国人民，人民的利益是第一优先，不管别人怎么想，军方一切以泰国人民为最大考量。
泰国军政府上周批准耗资135亿泰铢(折合约3亿9千40万美元)向中国采购一艘元级常规动力潜艇，泰国计划向中国采购三艘潜艇，这是其中之一。尽管外界有批评泰国是否有必要建立一支潜艇舰队，泰国军方重申，正如朝鲜半岛，地区乃至世界的安全，都存在不确定性，采购潜艇是有必要。泰国并未像个别东盟国家，卷入南海争议，但在蕴藏丰富天然气的泰国湾与柬埔寨就存在海上划界问题。至于潜艇造价方面，泰军一再强调合约很划算，但如果未来要加装更先进的设备，可能就是超出总价360亿泰铢的预算。

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)
