Hello, I have by mistake sent some coins to a wrong address of an other coin. I have done it through an exhanger (like cryptopia, c-cex etc.). They say now that the money is out and not reversable. But it's still on "sending" and also whether on the TxID nor the second address is anything received.
Is it really possible to send for example abc-coin to a xyz-coin address? And are the coins now really gone?
Because as I have readed, the network refuses wrong transactions. And this is not even just sending to a non existing address. The address does not exist and it's a complete different coin.
Thank you for answers.

IMO if the transaction was rejected. Then the coin will be returned back to you. How long? I'm not sure. If the address you send is exist, then there will no way to reverse it back.

Yes, the transaction will be rejected and go back to the sender. No idea if it will go back to your account or not, as their withdrawal and deposit addresses could be different, so they'd have no way of knowing which account it was. Try to find the txid if possible to see whether it'll get rejected or not, and then contact them again. (I assume based on what you said that you already did once)

As far as I know you can not send abc-coin to a xyz-coin address unless the address you send to an address that exists in both coins. All the coins I know use different prefixes within the address, so I think that your withdrawal wil be rejected and the coins will be refunded to the address you sent from. Don't worry, as long as you there is no transaction made, or the transaction is unvalid, you should get your coins back.

The thing is it was made with an exchanger. The support of it tells me the coins are gone but I am sure they're not. I am sure they got rejected and they just want to keep the money now. It was "send" to an address of an other coin. But it was not send because as I said there is no txID with what they said. So they scammed me with the coins? Edit: It would be nice if I would not have to worry. The transactions was made about 4 months ago and still not paid/reversed.

What exchange did you use? If they say your coins were sent to an address, than ask them for the tx id. If they don't have one, they are lying. From which altcoin have u sent coins? To which altcoin have u sent to?

To which altcoin have u sent to? Well the story is a little bit weird and till today I am not exactly sure what happened on that day and why such a mistake happened to me. I bought some LUN in january of this year. Later I tried to withdrew them to a LUNA address which did not work. Now here begins the mistery. LUNA was added/created in early january while LUN was there already for about a year. I am not longer sure because it's a while ago. But I think following happened: While the LUNA was not added yet, the name of LUN was "LUNA" in the list of YoBit. Then later LUNA was added and the current LUNA got named to "LUN". Now while I thought I bought LUNA, in reality I bought LUN and got fckd. LUN = LUNARCOIN and LUNA = LUNACOIN. It was made through YoBit and well, I got a little bit rude to them what I am sorry for. Shit, I know.

I also know that other users with problems on YoBit first needed to make a scam accusation against them before they even replied. So I recommend to make a very detailed scam accusation against them with all proof you have(screenshots and such). I am sure that than they will reply and sort this out for you.

Thank you for answers.
The transactions would not be relayed if the transaction is invalid. The exchanger is at fault for not implementing any checks and blindly accepting the address you keyed in. Given that the address formats are different, they shouldn't have been able to send the coins at all. Unless the address formats are the same, the transaction will not be mined. All the coins I know use different prefixes within the address, so I think that your withdrawal wil be rejected and the coins will be refunded to the address you sent from.
Don't worry, as long as you there is no transaction made, or the transaction is unvalid, you should get your coins back.
Bitcoin P2SH and Litecoin has the same address format. Even though mistakes were made, they were still recoverable.

They should be recoverable, shouldn't they? Every transaction I made on that day is still on pending or in YoBit on "sending". None of it were sent. I have now researched through all support tickets I/we wrote and I am also a little bit irritated. At the beginning I talked always about LUNA. Then the supporter wrote "here is LUNarcoin, not LUNA". So it looks like I really bought LUN and tried to withdraw to LUNA. Lol, but why did I then always talk about LUNA? Wtf. Is there still a chance to get the coins back even if it was my mistake/theirs because they did not check? I am slowly losing my hope.
