There are a lot of altcoins and I am really curious why people buy them. Is there any worth of altcoin? Why not using only bitcoin? What's the future of altcoins?

People buying altcoins because following reasons:
- low price and hope it will rise someday  (trading)
- altcoins has some advantages which bitcoin doesn't has.
- just like bitcoin, you can store your wealth on some potential coins.

Why do we don't have only one type of car on the street, which use only one particular fuel? Maybe because we are not all the same and we have different needs and perspectives. Someone cares about privacity, others needs speed, all in all demand exists.

why not only use bitcoin, because bitcoin is very high price so need big capital money can much profit, and bitcoin price not big fluctuative

like bitcoin, altcoins are cryptos coin and they want to get a value of their own , so they try to attract the investors to increase the valuable of them. it's like a new kind of property.

They want earn fast income so that's why people buy altcoin. It's hard to earn 100% of your capital on holding bitcoin only, staking is small profit.

simply because, alt coins is bit more cheaper in price than bitcoin, they will buy it and sell it when the coin is pumping, they will have a profit when the coin they are bought has a little bit high price when they sell it. buy for a little price then sell it for a higher price.thats it.

People usually invest in altcoins which they think have potential in the future so that they can make some pretty good earnings from it.

I guess there are some (but they're not that many really)who invest in a specific coin cuz they believe in it and want it to have a future bla bla bla.

But almost everyone is in for the money.

Yes, it seems most people purchase altcoins to make a profit on their investment as the price rises, which gives them the resources to purchase more Bitcoin AND, some altcoins actually have a purpose and function behind them that is of some value to the purchaser and not all about buying low and selling high  (eg. Dogecoin is widely used in tipping in social media networks like Reddit because of it's low price and Factoid purchases data credits using Factom).

Most of them want to make fast profits, but in fact there is a digitalisation ongoing and blockchain becomes more and more important as a technology for lots of things, there will be real worth for some coins in future.

To my point of view mainly because, as already some above had post for quick profit like as gambling, and where bitcoin is not the appropriate crypto currency. As an example when the privacy between receiver and sender is a must then an anon coin should be used, say the monero.

Bitcoin should be called old grandpa's Depends coin!

But who cares why we  bitcointalkers buy altcoins, if u want to learn some real valuable knowledge, then ask why COINBASE buys altcoins!

For bitcoin acceptance, it took around more than 6 years where now stores are accepting, maybe there is a chance for other altcoins may be who knows ETH will become next bitcoin in the form acceptance.

Most of us used it for trading, and some alt coin got a great investment value, especially in this few months the rising price of alt coin is pretty high and stable, so it makes a good profit, but usually people don't invest it for long term, the future fro some coin is pretty good, some investor are interested in implemented alt coin into business

This used to be the case, but on several exchanges, you can buy directly several alt coins with fiat, and there are several exchange pairs that do not go over bitcoin (mostly between ETH and ether application tokens).  In other words - apart from the psychological impact of course - if bitcoin stopped working, this wouldn't impact several of the bigger alt coins.
For instance, on Kraken, you can buy/sell LTC, DASH, ETC, ETH, GNO, ICN, MLN, REP, XLM, XMR and ZEC directly with USD/EUR.

We could say migration would be epic, but this won't happen for now. I must say i'm surprised with ETH but with all this money invested in PR and all good features and truly bright future, just can't endanger Bitcoin , ETH-16% today, thanks to BTC.

The single i use alt is to accumulate alternative currencies which are considered as the best and has a good volume so that i can have a leverage and can sell off when i want and most of the times i used to convert them to bitcoin according to the trends.It is all good when the profits are good and so is the reason people are buying alts.

The primary goal of an altcoin is to do things that BTC can't. LTC had a smaller block generation time and implemented Segregate Witness. ETH has the smart contracts feature and the ethereum virtual machine, that allows a greater number of instructions to the network. Other altcoins have better anonymous features. So, the alt worth comes from what who uses them thinks about this features.

There are really lots of altcoin in the market now and asking why they are here? Then there are people who do like to copy the concept of bitcoin which they decide to make their own coin believing that they could able to make an another bitcoin and make them rich out of it but still its a good choice or path because people who do make engage on it do really generate some income.Altcoin is still dependent on bitcoins price but there are alts which can already be traded by fiat directly.

Making profit is easier with altcoins, so that's why many people buy them It's way easier to buy low/sell high with altcoins and making x3-x5 profit is not that hard if you put your money in a couple of good coins. Or you can do a gamble and spread some money in a couple of cheap shitcoins, and hold them for a long time expecting that someday one of them will grow and you will do x50-x100 profit and become rich
