Do wallets exist that don't require your ID or bank account?

I'm new.  

I wanted to start Bitcoin and my understanding is first you need a wallet.  I tried Coinbase but it seems like in order to fund it or withdraw money some day, you need to associate your bank account with it, and provide your name and address.  Is there a way to have a wallet without giving my personal information?

Can you name some that are anonymous (in that they don't ask for ID, address, bank, etc).   Thanks!  Remember, I'm new, so dumb it down a little, lol.

p.s.  I plan on using local bitcoin dealers to fund my account with cash.

Coinbase is 'web wallet' with exchange ... so they have to follow KYC/AML rules.
Check this wallet overview ( what you are looking for is 'mobile' or 'desktop' wallet. Good wallets are mycelium and electrum )

No problem, we the bitcoin talk community are here to help.
I would personally recommend for you some SPV wallet (fast synchronising software wallet) like Multibit or Electrum.
You can synchronize in matter of minutes and use bitcoin on your own (without any verification from any 3rd party)

Nearly no wallets ask for your ID or bank account.  Only exchanges ask for your bank account, which are not wallets as such (Coinbase has a "wallet" but that's essentially an addition to their exchange).

As for wallets where you own the Bitcoin properly, which is what you'll probably want for your trades, you could try software wallets like Electrum or if you don't mind taking up a lot of space and bandwidth you could try a full node like Bitcoin Core.

You also might want a hardware wallet like a TREZOR if you're not tech-savvy or you're prone to malware.

Welcome to the forum, I would advise you to spend at least a month to read the posts on this board to learn about bitcoin.

Now coming back to your topic, I think you should go with web wallet (eg: blockchain.info) and you won't need to provide any personal information. You can get your unique bitcoin address to receive funds and you can buy bitcoins from anywhere and send it to your wallet address. However, there is risk associated with the web wallets so maintain a pc wallet to keep your funds safe.
