5月9日9时许，山东威海发生一起涉及幼儿的重大道路交通事故。公安部领导高度重视，迅速派出由公安部交管局领导带队的专家工作组赶赴现场，指导事故调查处理工作。

今日8时59分，威海中世韩国国际学校幼儿园一租用车辆，到威海高新区接幼儿园学生上学，行经环翠区陶家夼隧道时，发生交通事故并导致车辆起火。事故发生时，车上有司机1名，幼儿园老师1名，3-6岁幼儿园学龄前儿童11名。事故造成幼儿园老师重伤，司机和11名儿童（5名韩国籍，6名中国籍）死亡。（央视记者 李珺）
