Hi there,
I am going to create a custom made Crypto coin (and bars) collectors book and hopefully produce 100 or so of these books as a way for people to store their coins and also have information on the coins.

This hasn;t been done yet in the crypto space and as an previous avid  collector of all sorts, i really feel as if we need one. An awesome one.
So i will most likely get some graphic designers to do an awesome futuristic style book which will have slots to hold our coins perfectly.

I need help in recognising all the physical crypto coins in existance.
Therefore i am hoping the community can help me out so i can feature it in the book.

Kialara Labrtinth Series

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

I will be purchasing this for information on the coins.
My book is too actually hold the coins. A little bit like a stamp album (or a coin album).
Thanks for the help!

I think the idea is more like a coin album than an encylopedia.

I don't think many of us would store their coins in that way.

Holding thousands or tens of thousands dollars worth of goods inside of a "stamp album" would be a really stupid move.
Dito.

Cool, so as oppose to storing the coins in a safe, you could store the coins in an album in the safe.
Anyways, i am not sure why all the negativity, hopefully you guys will be more positive when the book is finished and see how awesome it is.

Yes, i wouldn;t store my coins like how it is seen in the picture.
The slots would have to be fitted to include space for an air capsule (for the coins)

A fair share of the coins we trade are graded, hence coming in a slab. Not sure how to put those into a book. Did you consider that when you had your?

I certainly will consider that - More so for the higher valued coins.

Yeah!! Do not listen to any objective criticism, and create a totally undesirable and worthless item. I love this plan!! Where do I sign up Huh I would be willing to sacrifice 1 chicken for the #1 number of the book.

I also want you to create a 'the coin collectors album collectors album collection!™'. Note: This idea is owned by a piece of nothing™. He/she/it may have author rights over it.

I'm not convinced on the idea but I'm curious to know how you'd plan o storing all those coins and bars in a single book... It's going to be one really really really thick book. Even if you were to limit it to one slot per coin, you're talking about a handful of manufacturers with a handful of products. To be able to create slot pages for all of them you are looking at more of a layered chest than a book...

Huh

Huh
More like a layered album with detachable sleeves,
New coins can be added by purchasing supplemental sleeves for them (when the sleeves is created).
Sleeves would have slots and information on the coin.
The hardest thing to crack is how to make the album look like it came from the year 3000.
It has to look futuristic and slick. Nothing like the existing coin albums.

Its a work in process.

But if you have a layer for each coin series you'd still end up with a good 15 or so layers which will need to 'house' coins and bars of varying thickness. The result would be a very very very wide and untidy looking album.

It does seem like a gigantic waste of time and money, but if you really feel the need to prove something then go ahead. Many people have raised sensible points and you are totally ignoring them - these are some of the core buyers for your idea. It is not at all practical to store these cryptocoins in this way and it's highly likely you will overlook simple things like the plastics interacting with holograms or metals.

I respect all of your opinions.
There would be a few coins per page, perhaps a series per sleeve, depending whether i stick with capsules or slabs. Maybe i can make custom sleeves for slabs.I also wouldn't be providing the coin capsules( i don't want a lawsuit for any interaction) only allow the space for it to be fitted.

I respect all of you as coin collectors.
I am a stamp collector, coin collector, stones collector & mining hardware collector.

I see an album missing amongst my albums and that is a crypto coin album.
If you don't get my idea then i don't really know what to say.
Its fine though, i am pretty sure if i get the design right and offer it at a cheap price,
the idea will at least breakeven and thats all i care about.
I am not looking to get rich from this.

I will update people when i have made new ground.
Thanks for the attention,
Keep collecting,

Wow, so much negativity in here. I think it's not a bad idea, but does need to be thought through a bit more.

I'm actually working on something very similar...

All my Casascius coins get graded and live in these:

Albums are great for putting together collections like circulated mercury dimes and such, but for such high value coins such as Casascius it wouldn't work for me.
