I just saw this yesterday live... it was sad to see Daniel Cormier devastated after the KO. It looked to me like he was winning every round. He was doing what he had to do, but Jon Jones played an intelligent game and tricked him into focusing on his hands too much, looks like he forgot Jon Jones has super long legs that can come out of any angle. He wasn't covering his right side, he leaned to the right side, and the kick was coming in this direction = game over.

Still no official statement by DC post-fight, no interviews or tweets.

Wups.  I'm 0 - 2 for this event.  Maybe I should stop betting on these events.  Lol.  But it's good to see Jones as the champ again.  We'll see what develops if there are no new comers in LHW as Jones already beat them all.  So it would be nice to see him do a McGregor and move up to HW.

Volkan Oezdemir should be next at LHW for sure

What???  With Jon Jones, I don't think that could happen soon.  Lesnar is next, Jones wants a money fight and if that makes Jones a major draw like McGregor, then I guess he'll be going for a champ vs champ battle with Miocic..?

lol lesnar, i dont think jones is gonna wait over half a year to maybe fight lesnar hes not even in the USADA pool.

An object moving at the same, constant, speed can become predictable to where its not moving at all.

Jones baited DC into moving forward at the same pace, so he could time him walking into that kick.

DC may have done better if he paused intermittently or changed the speed of his movement to make his position more unpredictable instead of moving forward at the same rate.

I also see him winning before the devastating kick by Jones. Truly the King is back. Brock Lesnar will be a good challenge for him. Let's see how this things work out. Jones is looking for a new challenge now and he see that Brock is a good one. I remember that he want's Cain before, but Cain has somewhat taking a vacation now.

Watching the fight right now.
Will need to wait until the main event starts to get any idea of what condition the fighters are in so to come up with any conclusion of who is going to win this bout of the champs. Grin
Actually if you are talking about win conditions then you are exactly wrong because both players have trained before match both are want to win the game while the game is going to be interesting so we can say that we should not predict the one who is going to win because both are fully trained and want to gain the match but let's see the winner who will swipe the game.

I am not sure which fight you guys were watching,i watched it live and since everyone was giving round one for Jones and two for Cormier i watched it couple of times and i did not see Cormier winning either of the round, yes he had a better answer to the clinch game and that was it,he was eating kicks to his legs and stomach all the time ,it is a truly remarkable performance by Jones,i had my doubts when he skipped the work out routine as i thought he might be injured, but it was just a strategy on his part, the greatest of all time without a doubt.

I feel sorry for Daniel Cormier. I reckon that this will be his final fight in the UFC and will retire after his contract expires. It is time for him to accept that he cannot win versus Jon.

With WME-IMG running things, I think they'll be pulling some strings to make that fight happen asap.  They did give him a pass on the Lesnar vs Hunt bout.  Just shows how different things are when the Fertitta bros left.

That was certain, Jones is much more skilled than Cormier, more flexible, taller, fast and have a born talent to martial arts, unfortunatly sometimes nature favors the genetics.

Congrats to Jon Jones for a wonderful showing. He indeed proved his doubters and haters again. As for DC, it was a heart breaking lost as he was just starting to get into the groove when he was hit. I'm not really sure when is his contract with UFC expiring though. I think he need to go over the fight with Jones. He can beat everyone in the division except Jones. I'm thinking he might go to other MMA promotion company.

Now where is the Jones doubters, he just finished Daniel Cormier as he promised  Cheesy had a wonderful day in terms of my betting as all of my picks won the fight and i am really impressed with Volkan Oezdemir as he finished him within the first minute and now Jimi Manuwa can shut his mouth altogether as he is not championship material. Cheesy And wow he just challenged Brock Lesnar for the fight .  Cheesy GOAT .

I played four different parlay in this card and every one won.  Cheesy Just posting one parlay

Nice one mate. I lost the Jones-DC fight. Well for one he proved his doubters including me. hahaha. But I will still be a DC fan no matter what his decisions will be. Kindly boring Woodley-Maia fight. But I think you can't may Tyron for having that kind of strategy specially he is fight Maia. And regarding Jones vs Brock. Interested to see that fight happen. No advantage for Brock except for his size, Jones will win this fight easily.

Daniel Cormier has finally made an announcement after the loss. He took an entire day off from saying anything. In his instagram he congratulated Jon Jones and his team, but he doesn't say he is retiring, neither does he say he will continue.

He is 38 year old, so it may be time to retire, even tho he was looking good. I think he should move to another weight decision and get a belt there to not end your career with the bad feeling of getting KO.

At least he is man enough to accept his defeat and congratulate Jones. Initially he campaigns at the HW division but since then Cain also in the HW, and because they are close friends and training partners for years, he went down to LHW and even became a champion (of course Jones is out during that time). I'm not really sure about retiring though maybe he needs a break or something or probably if he is thinking retiring, go back to hosting instead.  Smiley

With the kind of speech Jon Jones delivered after the win and his actions, there is nothing more Daniel Cormier could say rather than moving with the flow and accepting the fate,it was one of the best performance i have seen this year and this is the first knock out loss for DC and interestingly the first knock out win for Jone Jones in his UFC career. Cheesy I wanted to see Alexander Gustafsson next and i am sure Jones will stop him too as he is a different animal now.

I suspect he is trying to lay the groundwork for something like Conor vs Mayweather. Looking for more high-profile and profitable fights.

I give props for Jones for knocking out Daniel Cormier. He reclaimed the Light Heavy weight belt fo now. The win for Jones marks a long, winding path back to champion status. It's been more than two years since he's been the undisputed light heavyweight champion. Still congrats to the man. You proven me wrong.

He could probably looking for money fights right now similar as what Conor did. Ronda Rousey is already out, GSP status is not sure, so I think Jon Jones is the only legitimate star of UFC. It also appears the new champion might do his best to bring back one of the sport's biggest stars - Brock Lesnar. Regardless of whether Brock Lesnar would really leave the WWE to fight Jones, who has always teased a foray into the heavyweight division, the mere fact that it's a discussion is a sign of the impact Jones' return could make.

No way Jon Jones is going to fight Brock Lesnar anytime soon. He has 6 more months of USADA supervention, then he has another 6 months at least of training camp. That's 1+ year away. Jon Jones will have to fight someone else before the Jones-Lesnar clash happens. He senses the money, he knows that is a massive deal and he wants to pull a Mayweather-McGregor, but he cannot stay inactive for 1+ year waiting for that.

And if he fights against Brock, he would win with not much effort, Brock's size will be no match for his talent as a fighter.

Typical MMA fight camp is 3 months / 12 weeks.

USADA gave Brock Lesnar an exemption on entering the USADA testing pool the last time he fought Mark Hunt. If Jon Jones didn't care about Brock being tested and Brock was given another waiver they could fight soon.

Brock Lesnar said he'll only consider doing MMA & fighting Jon Jones if he doesn't have the WWE belt after their next big event. That could be the key point determining whether or not they fight.
