So, yesterday all my parts arrived for my very first mining rig.

RIG specs:
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2
MOBO: ASRock B85 Pro4
CPU: Intel Celeron G1840
RAM: 4GB DDR3 1600MHz Ballistix Sport
SSD: Kingston V300 120GB
OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit
GPU: Sapphire RX580 Nitro+ Limited Edition (Both the 6-pin and 8-pin power connectors are plugged in.)

Straight out of the box with Claymore's dual miner it ran straight for 18 hours (until I restarted) at default settings:
Core Clock: 1450MHz
Mem Clock: 2000MHz
Fanspeed: 30% (fixed)
Temps: 55-57°C
MH/s: 22.5MH/s
Wattage: 135-140W (Via GPU-Z)

Today I tuned a bit on the GPU and these are my results:
Core Clock: 1100MHz
Mem Clock: 2000MHz
Fanspeed: 30% (fixed)
Temps: 48-50°C
MH/s: 22.5MH/s
Wattage: 95-106W (Via GPU-Z)

So it seems with lowering the Core speed the RX580 uses around 30watts less, runs 5-7°C cooler while still mining at 22.5MH/s.
I will get further into tweaking the card on the weeks to come.

I might get into BIOS tweaking via the PolarisBiosEditor to get better hashrates and less power draw. Will keep this post updated.

I'm running these cards at 1250/2200 with bios mod.
Getting around 30.5 mh/s ETH and 900mh/s DCR.

Haven't played around with clocks too much tho, I just overclocked the memory to 2200 out of the box and went on vacation for a week. They are still going strong!

It blows my mind how quiet these cards are Cheesy

Will be follwing ur lead on this, I should probably lower power consumption a bit!

My stock Intel heatsink is louder then these cards on 40% fanspeed...
Running my rig in the garage and I can only hear it when I'm standing right next to it!

Hazarding a guess, I think that Troy has Hynix memory chips and crypto has Samsung.

Even newer Hynix gets 30+ MH/s w/ BIOS mod

Update:

First of all: the noob I am I forgot to backup the BIOS of the original silent mode of the card...

Second I flashed the BIOS, restarted no problem, but as soon as I start the miner the screen will give all red/green pixels and after 5 seconds crash.
I switched it back to the Gaming non modded BIOS and the miner is now up and running again...

Will be looking for a default Sapphire RX580 Nitro+ Limited Edition Silent BIOS or get a working Modded BIOS.

Too much overclock with new BIOS. Bring memclock down to 1800, check for stability, start raising it 50mhz at a time rebooting each time. When it crashes, bring it back down to the last "Stable" clock. Run HWiNFO look for GPU mem errors. Start adjusting 10mhz at a time until you get no more than ~1 mem error every few minutes or so.

Update:

Got it stable at the moment with the flashed BIOS.

Core: 1100
Mem: 1800
Fans: 30% fixed
Temps: 54°C
Speed: 25.5MH/s
Wattage: 120-125watts
Voltage: stock

Will spend the whole day trying to get the hashing speed as fast as possible with lowest wattage. I've seen 30.5 on 75-80watts with these cards by people who know how to do this properly. If I can get 100w at 28.5MH/s I'll be happy!

I'm curious, did you try to OC the Memory just with the Wattman to 2250Mhz (and maybe downclock the Core) and see what hashrate and power consumption it gives? I'm interested in the results because right now I really don't know whether or not to buy the newer RX 5xx cards or get second hand RX 4xx cards.

Nope I didn't. I installed TRIXX software from Sapphire to overclock the memory but as soon as I changed default mem speeds it dropped from 22.5MH/s to 18-20MH/s. When I decreased the speed on the core I only got lower wattage and temps.
I did a BIOS flash with a lot of help from @Apneal and had some small issues (green/red pixels) which is fixed now. I took a RX580 because not a single RX480 was to be found new here. I took the Limited Edition of the Sapphire because it also was the only one in stock.

I haven't been on this forum in a while.

A quick update for you guys:

I now have a double alu frame for 2 miners.
The first miner is still the same.
Second miner specs:

- EVGA 1300W G2
- ASRock Pro BTC R2.0
- Intel G1840
- Cryorig H7
- 4GB DDR3 1600MHz
- 120GB SSD with Windows 10 Pro running claymore V9.5 ETH only.
- 6x Asus RX570 STRIXX OC 4GB running at 24.3MH/s non bios modded yet
- 6x KKMoon Risers from Amazon.de with 50cm USB cables.

Second rig mines around 140MH/s and 1.5-2 weeks for 1 ETH

Will be back soon when I have everything setup like I want and some decent BIOS mods for the RX580 and RX570

RX 580 will get 30.5MH/s
RX 570's should get around 28.*MH/s each

Total should be around 200MH/s for the 2 rigs.
