I was reading there is quite a bit of news about more VCs interested in bitcoin. They were saying how it is gold 2.0 and all this stuff. This got me thinking, why don't VCs give out bitcoin? I mean I know the legal area could present a challenge but none of them ever say if they are invested into bitcoins or hold bitcoins. They could do a deal where they give half in bitcoin and half in USD. Just curious I would like to see what are other people's opinion about it...

pretty easy to tell other ppl to give away their money, eh?

but i get your point.  i think paypal did this back when they started and alot of ppl credit this move for getting them launched.

you also reminded me of the guy over at Reddit who's been giving bitcointips away left and right.  that guy has helped Bitcoin probably more than anyone in spreading the word.  it's quite hilarious watching newbies climb all over themselves begging "me, me, do me, PLEASE!"

VC's do give out money. they just don't promote it as they will have beggers knocking at their door 24/7.

ive personally (although not a millionaire) done litecoin giveaways and just gave away bitcoins and bitcents to people either because i think they deserve them or because im trying to promote bitcoin to new people.

i have printed out business cards with private keys and a website which then instructs the holders to download the qt client from the official site or use blockchain.info. to get started

but i do agree that it's

i prefer to give money to legit businesses and places that help the economy rather then a handfull of guys saying they are opening up a charity, with no charity status or no organised plan as to how to get the funds to the intended recipients.

most VC's don't make themselves known as they then get lots of private messages with peoples business plans. VC's normally stay in the background and view the plan through their own eyes and not how the beggers script it to them.

I think it will become the reality once the bitcoin economy catches up and you would be able to employ freelancers, lawyers, programmers, graphic designers and have a selection of at least thousands, so far receiving Bitcoins as an investment would be useless for most businesses.
