I have the same problem with cgminer crashing with the --scrypt flag and 13-4 drivers.
With 13-4 drivers you do not need any sdk for opencl.

For those that want to change their driver in a clean manner without reinstalling a new os just use this wonderful tool :

amd_cleanup_util_1.2.1.0

I just found out I never responded here. This cleanup tool resolved all my problems (at least with regards to Scrypt mining Wink). Thanks!

I was having this exact problem the other day; it took me a while to figure out, but because I have DEP and ASLR enabled, I had to configure cgminer to opt out of both in order for scrypt to work.

I had the same problem on a laptop with a mobility HD5450, running the latest beta drivers. The latest version of CGminer crashed all the time, but 2.9.2 runs sweet.

I'm having this problem now too.

running cgminer v. 3.7.2
with a 6770 driver 8.92

If I run cgminer alone it boots fine, but once I add --scrypt it crashes after URL\Username\Password Prompts.

Any suggestions?
