I’m an author, and I love writing. So far, I have written around 20 books and journals on SharePoint, as well as hundreds of articles online and offline, in magazines, newspapers, and other media. I’ve been a public speaker for years, and I train people in SharePoint, both individually and in corporate settings.

I’ve fallen in love with Bitcoin, and have decided to write and publish at least one book. However, I want to do this with a twist and work with the Bitcoin and Litecoin communities to see if we can come up with a better way of writing and publishing.

The first book is described on this page and focuses on mining Bitcoins and Litecoins. I want to cover both Bitcoin and Litecoin because the methods used for these coins apply to nearly all current cryptocurrencies.

The writing and publishing of this book will be a crowd-funding project. Let me explain how that will work.

I use professional editors for all my books; copy-editors, layout editors, cover designers and so on. These people cost me money and I would like to ensure that I get at least those expenses covered.

Of course, it would be highly motivating if it turns out that I make a few bucks myself, but primarily I want to see if this project can succeed in covering costs.

As such, I will release the book in separate chapters. For each chapter, I will set a funding goal, and once that goal is reached, I will publish, free of charge, that chapter. The writing, editing, and publishing of each chapter usually takes around one week, but may take up to a month per chapter. This isn’t my primary livelihood, and I may need to cater to my daytime job too. *sigh*

To whet your appetite, I have added a raw preview of Chapter 5 for download. This preview is far from done, but can give you an idea of what to expect content wise. Go ahead and download, I’ll wait right here for your return.

After completion of the full book, it will be available on a pay-anything base, meaning you can still get it free, but you can also choose to contribute to my motivation for writing further books by paying something.

You can track the progress of the funding over on Blockchain.info. On that page, check the Received: section to see how much has been donated thus far.

Please note: I do not track individual donations and there is not special reward for donations beyond the warm feeling of my gratitude and knowing you have contributed to the community getting a nice book on mining.
