The criticism comes from the ludicrous buy-it-now price of 100BTC, nothing more.  Lots of people market altcoin memorabilia here without issue, but the difference between this post and the others is that most sellers aren't trying to put insanely high valuations on their products, especially for obscure altcoins which have no relevance to the crypto space.

OK, the impossible and baseless valuation doesn't start things off well, but to say that it has no relevance to the crypto space isn't fair at all.

especially on a sub-forum that embraces auctions for all forms of Bitcoin paraphernalia, coins, books, art, etc.
Jetcoin isn't Bitcoin.

And neither is Lealana (started and remain mostly Litecoin loaded), Nasty Coins (love you OG), Monero coin, Ether bars, Shibanu, Crypto Imperator Doge DIY, Blockchain at Berkeley Coin, the list goes on. And many of the bitcoin loaded physical coins copy some element of Mike Caldwell's design!

The best part is the fact that we're arguing/debating Jetcoin's right to be here actually legitimizes the physical cryptocoin scene. We've turned a corner. We're debating this like people debate art. We just upped this scene in sophistication.

This debate benefits all of us, whether you hold Casascius coin, Shibanu, one of those rustic looking "no-two-are-alike" brass tokens pressed with the BTC in it, or one of the very few Jetcoins.

Spot on HabBear,
Jetcoin coin is more than just a coin, its an historic artpiece when combined with the business card.

Look at the valuation of this historic artpiece - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-39929706

I have changed my mind, this coin is no longer for sale.

I will be revisiting this thread in a few years time.

Thank you

Tell me another early piece which is so rare, unique & interesting which captures the essence of the crypto currency bubble in such an appeasing illustrative , both physical and visual manner. This is only second to Casascius ( but not when it comes to rarity, i believe it is more rare). The word 'Jetcoin' with a card of a spacecraft jetting to the moon captures the spirit of the crypto currency scene in its core. This coin wasn't sold, it wasn't created so that the creators would profit from a sale, it was created in pure spirit of crypto & given to the few crypto enthusiasts who were willing to pay hundreds of pounds for a ticket to the conferences in 2014.
This is a remarkable piece.

You know you got me.  I think i am just a little mad i ran out of funds lately.  I had a great opportunity presented to me i couldnt resist.  I bought fifty loaded Alitin coins (for only 1.5btc each, less than face value!!!!)  So i dropped 75btc on them otherwise i would have made you a solid offer for your coin.  Side note: i feel really bad i ripped that seller off for the alitin coins, he even threw in a couple free loaded coinographic coins   Cool

Rarity is only a factor is something is desirable. This coin is not desirable,  its like every morning.. each and every morning I do a different shit - each one is unique and one of a kind - never the same.. so by your thought process each of my individual shits are worth money as they are so unique..

no... each shit I take is like this coin, shit.. it needs to be flushed down a toilet

With that knowledge you must have made millions.. maybe even billions :O.

Boy I wish I had a billion dollars and could sit on a forum trolling people and trying to get someone to buy a piece of crap for $100k.

OP predicted it but didn't believe in it fully to actually invest. That's precisely why he's selling such a 'rarity' for $100k. He needs to start compensating for his mistake somewhere!  Roll Eyes

This is a remarkable piece.
Indeed. A remarkable piece of trash. You must be doing some nice drugs.

This whole thread is stupid on such a level that I can't even bother to write lengthy posts about its and OP's stupidity.

People used to say i was on drugs when i predicted that bitcoin would reach a 1000 dollars in 2012.
Boy were they wrong.

With that knowledge you must have made millions.. maybe even billions :O.

Boy I wish I had a billion dollars and could sit on a forum trolling people and trying to get someone to buy a piece of crap for $100k.

No, i didn't make millions.

I look forward to purchasing the next edition of the coin encyclopedia featuring this piece.

Good luck everyone with everything.

Meh. Making predictions without actually backing it up with your own money gives no bragging rights about said prediction.

Who knows, maybe they'll make it into a book one day...

Wheelz100, TMAN, Luptin, Lauda
I think your anger comes from the fact you can't afford this item from me despite being avid collectors.
