Bitcoin ETF - decision 15th May - Time and place

I've heard it's just the last day to submit a comment nothing else.

I could be wrong though.

It's just the deadline to submit petition for review. Perhaps it was even already sent a while ago. Then it will be a matter of days at least to hear back.

Likely to still be a no, in which case limited effect on price. If a surprise yes happens, will also have limited effect. Happy to be proven wrong!

Well I didn't really think it will be approved. Seems though that the prices were affected by a few hundred dollars after it reached an all time high of $1,900+ in the past couple of days. Maybe we'll see it stabilize in the next few days and I hope it stabilize at $1,700 and not go down below this price anymore.

i wouldn't get my hopes up for a "not changing" price! there are still some people who are caught up in the fake hype and will surely panic, you know bitcoinewbies love to panic at times like this and everybody loves them for their panic

Hard to say, I think there is some speculation being based around the ETF again and I think it might slip a bit for a little while, but there's a high chance that it will be bought up again and return to around $1,700. If the ETF does get approved, it might slowly get through the community and then go up to $1,900 again, but having the ETF approved is already unlikely.

Nothing has changed in the last 2 months. So the SEC will reject it again and then hopefully this chapter can finally be closed.
A few guys try to use it however to play the market imo, that's why we see that topic popping up again and again.

because people like speculating (guessing) and when they don't find any logical reason for their speculation anymore they start using any kind of news
although i agree that nothing has changed and SEC will most probably deny it again but one thing has changed and that is the way Japan changed the way the whole world looks at bitcoin.

It's Bitcoin's speculative nature. Everything is being used to make the market move into a certain direction. Why? Because it always works. After the SEC review something else will be put up front to move the market. Now the price has increased nicely over the last weeks, it's likely time for some negativity. Easy thing to fall back to are the hard fork speculations. It's now sitting in the background, but it doesn't take much to fire up another round of panic by sponsoring certain negativity minded articles to shake up the market.

Yeah it's a pretty pointless debate, we all know that no bitcoin ETF will be approved for a long time, if ever. Luckily it doesn't stop our moon bound rocket though.

I don't think it will be approved, but I would like to hear the official word on it. It could have an affect on the bitcoin price.

Yeah. I hope that the skyrocket price will continue even though it will be rejected by ETF. We already see some correction price a few days ago in anticipation of  the rejection. But I think the SEC will just collate all the pros and cons on the Coin ETF application, and will not make the decision today.

I have been of the mind that the etf getting approved has such a low low chance that people arent pricing that in to bitcoin. The recent price rises being attributed to more of the news about Japan and some other  countries having positive news. Recently i just saw something about USA considering accepting btc payments for something like paying some kind of fee for contracts or something.

Aside from some country adoption, there is not much going on Bitcoin.  Scaling problem is still there, regulation is still an issue.  so I guess the decision on the ETF review will not be reverted.  It will stay the same.  Rejected.  And I guess the rejection will do good than bad.

Therefore the second annoucement by the SEC, very likely another rejection, won't have any significant impact on the price.

The mere fact that SEC agreed to examine ETF case once more is enough reason for bitcoin investors to keep hopes high.
Price might not necessary spike because of that, but confidence in bitcoin's future potential might be bolstered.
I belive that we will have bitcoin ETF someday, in due time.

In a sense you are correct. Maybe the second review give investors trust and confidence in bitcoin. They see good potential in bitcoin that's why they have put money in the ecosystem. If ETF will be rejected, I think they will still stay with bitcoin because the price is  going up. So its a win-win situation for us casual holders and big investors.
