https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison

So how much did BFL pay to get listed as shipping on this site?  It's bad enough that we are plastered with BFL ads on every bitcoin website to make them look legit, but to get listed as shipping product when they have given them out to one or two websites hardly means you are "shipping" by any industry standard.

How much longer is the bitcoin community going to put up with such deception?  As long as BFL is buying advertising?

So, your saying all of the individuals who have posted that they received their units are lying?

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?
A: Top-posting.
Q: What is the most annoying thing on usenet and in e-mail?

No I'm questioning the rational behind applying the shipping label.  Shipping generally implies product consistently being delivered as well. I don't see that as being the case.  I assume you have one up and mining away by your response?

My response implies no such thing.

It appears that Jalapeno's are shipping consistently.  Maybe consistently slow, but consistent none the less.

Edit: I just looked at the hardware comparison and it states that the 5Ghs units are shipping and they are.

you do realize that all the people who are receiving units are "reviewers", "developers", or random people who got it early, despite ordering later than other people?

It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

Yep, that in and of itself is a BFL consistency.

Seriously though, isn't that inline with their 1/3 shipping policy?

The website says "2 were shipped"...

How is that constitutional of "shipping"... there were 2 shipped, and NONE are "shipping".

What's the Constitution have to do with anything.

Seems like more than two were received.  But what do I know?

Quote from BFL...

"I want to clarify the above post, as there is some potential confusion. We are not shipping yet. We plan on shipping possibly by the end of next week, but I will update on a shipping schedule as soon as I have more definitive information with regards to that."

https://forums.butterflylabs.com/announcements/692-bfl-asic-status-3.html

Thus, WiKi is wrong... as usual, as it is with most of the other ASIC propaganda and hype.

Below that...

6 May 2013 ASIC Update
"As many of you know, we started shipping out a quantity of Jalapeno's (around 35 or so), about half of those went to developers and the media, the other half went to customers. They have been well received so far and everyone is happy with what they have received. In the meantime, we have been diligently working on the Little Singles, Singles and Minirigs."

Still, "not shipping"... a few were just "shipped"... That is not "shipping" status.

They are waiting, again, for "new boards".

As for constitutional...
"Consistent with, sanctioned by, or permissible according to a constitution"
Constitution...
" the way in which a thing is composed; physical make-up; structure"

Thus, NOT CONSTITUTIONAL. They are NOT SHIPPING yet (YET).

50 sent, out of over 10,000 ordered... is NOT "shipping".

I tend to agree, "Now Shipping" implies you could get one to your door next week.

"Now Shipping" usually doesnt imply a 6 month backlog of orders yet to be filled.

I agree, its shady as hell.

Im sorry but your retarded to say "now shipping" implies you'll get the product next week. That does not imply that what so ever.

It implies they are shipping their units to customers, and if they have a backlog then they have a backlog but does not mean they aren't shipping. Just because a company has a backlog and are infact shipping to people and are saying "now shipping" is not false information

LOL they should be at least a little transparent..."shipping in 6-12 months"....but shipping "now".

To not hint at their backlog and have that big of a lag is flat out lying to NEW CUSTOMERS.
