Out of experience, 4G Hynix can go to 31-32 without any issues.

My PandaminerB3 has 470 4G Hynix and all of those cards are running at 31.5Mh for weeks now. (250Mh+)

8G Hynix is a different story. It also has an extra 2250Mh strap.

This one is indeed a bit more difficult to fine tune.

But i have this one over 30Mh as well.

It can all be done, just be sweet to it, caring and when you're in the mood, a good lullaby can do miracles too!  Cheesy
Nah, seriously, 8G Hynix can do 30+ easily as well.

Greetings!

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Yeah definitely don't buy the Sapphire rx580's with Hynix, they're terrible cards with terrible hash rates, since they're the newest in the rx series they also have terrible resale value, the fans are terrible too and can't even keep the cards below 75deg celsius. Don't buy these, get some old (second hand) rx480s for double the price!

I have this card. I'm not a strapmeister. I can achieve 30+ with an explanation.

BIOS strapping 101: copy the 1750 strap over the higher straps. 28+ mh/s

Luck:

After reading all the relevant 580 threads, treasure can be found in the AMD rebrand thread that can get this card to 30+. But......, the drawback is that this card uses more power.

yes, I did it. all the other GPU got 31mh/s , except  sapphire with hynix which are still 22mh/s.

sapphire with samsung did 31.
sapphire with elpida did 31.
xfx with samsung did 31.
xfx with hynix did 31.

ONLY sapphire with hynix did 22.... I tried it on 3 different GPU. All did 22...

Still don't know why.

I have Sapphire Pulse 580 8GB with hynix and i am ok with that cards, They are getting 29.6 MH without problems. Now i have only 2 in work the temp are ok, 62 and 58 degree. I have made some mod on them. Both with the pc are getting 340 W from the wall.  So its not a bad card at all. I am happy with this model. You can check the pic for more details Cheesy

rx580s by sapphire are amazing and people need to stop bashing them because there were a lot of issues in the past.

Thanks for sharing.

I have work it out. just like you said.about up to 28-29@ 110 watt ,it is fine.
And my samsung cards are about 31.5 @ 140 watt which I prefer. lower mh/watt but making more profit.

Hi all. Smiley

My shapphire rx480 with samsung memory got about 27mh/s @80watts with 1000/2250.

My shapphire rx580 with samsung memory got about 27.8mh/s @120watts with 1100/2250.

Seems like rx480 is better not only because the mh/watts but also the price. But 480 are sold out so I have to buy 580 instead.I can live with that.

BUT yesterday I got a RX580 with hynix. No matter how I change the coreclock/memclock, IT ONLY GOT about 21mh/s @85watts.

My Sapphire 480/580 with samsung always do about 27mh/s on ETH  or 330 sols/s on ZEC. But this sapphire rx580 with hynix do 21mh/s on ETH or 280 sols/s on ZEC. There are 2pics @ #4th floor show that hynix only got 21mh/s.

Is that regular? i didnt flash bios, only use msi afterburner. Does it means 580 with hynix sucks?what should I do ?

And which brand is better than sapphire? and why is that?

Thx.

Hynix is good, i have RX580 4gb Hynix, run 31mh/s

I am sure you generate about the same amount of memory errors as dollar being printed

UPDATE2:

finally found out how to deal with Sapphire RX580 8GB with hynix. Its bios are the same as Sapphire with samsung, but how to mod the bios is different.

With samsung, just copy 1:1750 to 1:2000, it is done. easily from 24->31mh/s.
With hynix, you should copy 2:1750 to 2:2000, and tune the clocks, This will make you from 22->28mh/s.

10-15% lower is which I can live with.

Those are just Sapphire , other brand don't have the issue.

The good things with Sapphire is, the temperature is lower even the fans not that fast, and lower watt consumption.

----------------------------------
UPDATE:

conclusion:

If your GPU is Sapphire 580 with Hynix, it sucks.
I bought 3 Sapphire 580 hynix, they are all 22mh/s top.

But XFX RX580 hynix is 24mh/s which means good.
Sapphire RX580 samsung is 24mh/s which means good too.

JUST dont buy Sapphire RX580 with Hynix !!

That didn't work for me you need to copy 2:1500 to 2:1625, 2:1750 & 2:200 that will give you 24 then set mem to 2050 cor 1180 & pwr 4 that will giv u 27/28 which is the maximum I've manage to get without crashing.

I just received some Sapphire Nitro+ RX580 8GB GPUs. I am testing with one GPU right now (having Hynix Memory).
I played around with afterburner, but I never got more than 22.5 MH/s (140W power draw according to GPU-Z) (stock settings). Is there something I can do to get better values without modifying the BIOS?

Please let us know how it goes.  I'm with the crowd that can't get a Sapphire PULSE RX580 8GB modded past the 22 Mh/s without it crashing within two minutes.  Really need some guidance here.  I've tried all the tutorials and available roms, but nothing works.  And my NITRO+ 8GB arrives on Monday.

Hello there, I just bought 6 Sapphire nitro+ with Hynix memory and I can confirm they only get 22 mh/s no matter what I did...
I gotta say i'm pretty disappointed with this performance...
I wanna ask you about your bios mod, have you been running it for the past month without problem ?
thanks

Hey thanks man, so I managed to bios flash my rx 580s all six of them, I was very happy when they started hashing at 27MH after bios mod and 2000mhz memory clock, then even happier when i overclocked with MSI afterburner to get 30.1mh on 2250mhz memory and 1150mhz core clock.
Then the strangest thing happened, I have all cards on same settings yet only one gpu is always displaying this error on claymore v9.6
Code:
GPU#0 got incorrect share. If you see this warning often, make sure you did not overclock it too much!
I tried replacing the gpu pcie slot, putting it on default clock speed (1411mhz/2000mhz) and even reflashing it but still same issue...
I'm using combined amd driver from cryptomined channel on win10.

any ideas what's going on ?
thanks ^^

Download HWinfo, run sensors only and see if there are any memory errors. I've never seen a Bios modded RX 580 that can you can overclock the memory to 2250 MHz and not produce tons of memory errors.

Thanks, I came back to answer my own question, after some digging turns out the PCIe risers i'm using are shit, after switching the PCIe bios settings to GEN2.0 (they were GEN 3.0) the problems are gone and all cards are hashing normally.. Although, I've set the clock to 2150 to make sure I avoid any other issues later on.

Is there any clear indication or way to tell which brands/specific cards are using hynix or Samsung? Or is it just down to luck of what you get?
