Currently getting decent transaction fees is a very precise game.  Ideally you'd set them at the recommended fees, but realistically anything which is 121 satoshi/byte or more is going to get through.  You just have to get over the barrier of the thousands of 120 satoshi/byte transactions from the Blockchain wallet, and then it'll happen within a day.

The important thing is that you base it on satoshi/byte rather than just satoshi.

You can try to push your tx with via btc accelerator... otherwise you can just wait, or try to rebroadcast your tx with a bigger fees.

well my dear legendary friend, you are making 2 main mistakes here
first is using blockchain.info for your bitcoin wallet specially these days that we know their fee suggestion is broken.
secondly you are reporting the fee in absolute value, it has no meaning. you should look at fee per byte to see if $0.80 was enough or was terribly low based on your size.

also a good idea to read this.
good luck.

There is a FOMO brewing...

my wallet was imported from another wallet as its fee was minimal way below tx min like 0.0001 fee and their wallet not updated in a long time. so imported it to blockchain might have to import elsewhere. Where would you recommend to use other than blockchain coinbase etc as not used btc in a while and am now in process of using and paying things out and getting back on track .  I dont fancy having to use bitcoin cure as such a massive wallet. what do you use for terms of btc wallet thats got no problems on?

Yeah the transaction is getting slow I think it is because of the number of users,
Bitcoin is attracting so many people as it grow so I think that is the reason why the transaction is getting slower this days hope that it will be back to normal again.

You won't want an online wallet, none of them are that good.

-Electrum is a popular software wallet with great features.

-The TREZOR is a popular hardware wallet, and you can use it along with Electrum as well.  Ledger is another good one.

Tried electrum in past and found no way of importing wallets into it since v2 other than to sweep n send transaction to wallet and that just causes more problems for me including wallet change every payment sent. No good for me. Guess will have to keep on looking

You should be able to import a wallet through the new wallet option.

It offers you to insert your private key and it will work without problem.

Noobs are going to loves this. One more thing to explain. Is a new system needed?

Electrum does have an import wallet feature, so I guess you need to keep on exploring Electrum first since you (I assume) already have it in your machine. Also, giving us a figure of $0.80 in fees doesn't mean we can have the problem figured that easily. Can we get a txid at the least? Or better yet, try to rebroadcast tx with the recommended fee this time.

SO sent a transaction with at least $0.80 in fees any idea as to why its not confirmed and its been almost 4+ days if not longer in confirming. Was sent from block chain wallet with also added extra fee on it said time to confirm 10 min or 1 block and still its not even got 1 confirmation on?
Don’t worry, my transaction was left unconfirmed for around 5 days and when I finally put my link into the transaction accelerator within the Viabtc the transaction was confirmed within a few hours.
If you want to get your transaction confirmed if that Viabtc website is not accepting your transaction link, I suggest that you Private Message the miner who owns that website because he/she will confirm your transaction link in a very fast matter.
The transaction accelerator is usually reset after every hour so you shouldn’t have to message him/her though.

Can you post your transaction id here so that we can see how much fee you have included per byte in your transaction and have you tried to submit your tx id in viabtc tx accelerator, you can try them to get faster confirmation.

I guess an average fee is around $1 plus, since you sent a txfee of less than $1 it is obvious that it won't be confirmed soon, aside from that if the transaction is coming from several address plus the output branched into two address, definitely your fee per bytes would decrease, I have a bad feeling that your transaction fee per byte is less than 50 satoshi/byte that is why it is taking  that long.

Average fee can't be determined, its depend completely upon the size of the transaction. Also if input or output have two address it will increase fees, doesn't decrease it as total size of the transaction will increase so the size and recommended fee of the transaction.

How you calculated that OP have included 50 satoshi/byte as transaction fee

SO sent a transaction with at least $0.80 in fees any idea as to why its not confirmed and its been almost 4+ days if not longer in confirming. Was sent from block chain wallet with also added extra fee on it said time to confirm 10 min or 1 block and still its not even got 1 confirmation on?
Yeah the transaction is getting slow I think it is because of the number of users,
Bitcoin is attracting so many people as it grow so I think that is the reason why the transaction is getting slower this days hope that it will be back to normal again.
Bitcoin being used by many users now is not a wrong thing, but of the confirmation will take about days to be confirmed well that's not right!! But i guess bitcoin is a working progress surely it will be normal again and they will think of a way how it confirmations be confirmed right away, but it's great to know many people now are aware and some of them are already onto bitcoin

Yes, but it's gotten better in the last few days.  I did send bitcoin about 3 times, and the freaking fees have gotten outrageous.  I use mycelium, and using the "normal" fee thing, the last time I sent btc I paid over $4 to send about $130.  That's a lot, but I shouldn't complain.  I'm more concerned about confirmation times, because if you buy something, as I have, if it takes 3 days to confirm then you have to wait that long before the item is shipped.  And that's just ridiculous.
