Bitcoin users, if they did not face it personally, have probably heard stories about someone loses private keys, accidentally sends coins to the wrong address or allows some other unfortunate mistakes. Most often, this problem becomes a long address, consisting of a combination of letters and numbers - you can not call them simple to remember.

The project Bech32 developing by Wuille and Maxwell, that is the problem and trying to solve, making the bitcoin addresses are not only more friendly to users but also providing them with properties such as the ability to recognize a mistake when when character set...

This essentially gets rid of mixed case letters in Bitcoin addresses, so mistakes are not so likely, e.g.

1wetyuorweyuddgh4woq7ewehjsaiq

instead of

1weTyuOrweyUddgh4woq7ewEHJsaiq

...like addresses are now. Although my example is oversimplified, I think the addresses may be a few characters longer than the current scheme, IIRC. And the beginning of each address will start "bc" I think, so maybe it would be something like this in Bech32:

bcwetyuorweyuddgh4woq7ewehjsaiq
