Do you think there would ever be a time the CIA or some central-authority-agency would in someway sponsor activities that would hurt Bitcoin's image in the world?

What do you think?

what would be the motivation for doing that? (what would they want to achieve)

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

How do we know this recent attack wasn't done by CIA? (They are responsible in some other way even if they didn't do it) Now people stared to blame North Korea for the attacks because blaming Russia for everything is not cool anymore. In the end, those tools were made for NSA and they couldn't have guarded them safe enough. They suck

what would be the motivation for doing that? (what would they want to achieve)
The dominance of their own fiat currency so that they can regulate it better, pull in taxes and more.

The German central bank has already warned people against buying Bitcoin - kind of like how ants would warn people not to use pesticide, as I saw someone saying.

they can still regulate bitcoin and put taxes on it and they do do that.

you need to read the whole news not just the headlines. these warnings are not restricted to one or two countries all of them have issued such warnings to their people. and the warning tells them to be careful when investing in bitcoin, since it is not regulated and volatile and they may lose a lot of money. and this is the same warning we give to any newcomer asking if it is ok to invest all his life savings in bitcoin.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.

I think it is a misconception that authorities hate bitcoin.  In fact, it allows them far more control over finances than has ever been, because of the transparent block chain, and the fact that they can apply strict AML/KYC rules on exchanges, knowing the inputs and outputs of the chain.

Moreover, bitcoin being essentially a speculative asset, I think banks are gonna LOVE this once they are allowed to speculate on it.

Bitcoin moreover being a collectible, somewhat similar to gold, central banks will be able to steer entirely its market, like they do with gold, as they can corner it, and dump it at essentially no cost (just the cost of printing fiat to buy it, keeping it as a reserve asset like they do with gold).

What do you think?

America is in control of the worlds currency in the form of US dollars as the universal legal tender. If bitcoin will be adopted by the countries in the world then bitcoin could be the next legal tender leaving the US dollar weak and prone to economic devastation. This could be the fall of the economy of America thus they see it fit to destroy bitcoin using the quantum computers made by the CIA.

The good news is with those quantum computers available to destroy bitcoin it will take several years so I am not worried. I agree though that this latest trend of attacks in forms of ransomware could be very well designed from people working in intelligence agencies, CIA,FBI or NSA. That is an option I would not exclude. However the price of bitcoin is still firm from several days in the 1700-1800 and this is good for the health of bitcoin. These agencies do not like bitcoin but for the moment they are not doing anything massive against it.

Already on to us since 2010 after they killed Satoshi Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy I even heard they made Gavin to chop his body and put them in acid Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy.
Not only image but the founder as well.

Now overlords the owners of banks around the world are pumping Ripple and now it has $12B marketcap.
I don't know how can claim to be decentralized while all it will take the most powerful country to enter and deploy resources to take the control.
CIA & NSA can try their best to keep track of transactions after they go through bitmixer's filters, maybe the reason they hate Bitcoin so much is because of the services like mixers? lol after all what good is CIA for if unable to gather information.
Don't be surprised if you see in near future Ripple surpassing Bitcoin in marketcap.

Considering the US Dollar basically has unlimited transaction capacity and backing of the American Government.
Bitcoin can not even meet it current transaction requirements and no support from a Government.

All they have to do is DDOS all of the mining pools or cut their electricity or internet, nothing more to stop Bitcoin.
Bitcoin is resistant to attack from individuals and small countries,
thinking that America or China or Russia don't have the resources to end BTC by physical means is fool hardy.

first of all there is no reason for any country to do such thing and even if they decided to do this, bitcoin is not a centralized website to DDoS and make it go offline!
the miners are spread throughout the world, and those you think are centralized in one place are actually having servers in different places that they connect to. and even if some miners are successfully put out of business, the hashrate will drop and then difficulty will drop and new miners on another side of the world will pop up with new servers and somewhere out of the reach of the attackers.

If they blatantly attacked bitcoin infrastructure it would first of all be an admission of fear and weakness. 2nd it would have the opposite effect. The community would rally together and all the free advertising would all serve to increase the bitcoin price. I hope they try.

LOL ar Jamie Dimon and attempts by China.

Bitcoin can't be controlled as its reached global escape velocity 4-years ago in 2013. Hahaaha.

So we consider these attempts free advertising? =)

You may be right, but isn't it ironic that these governments consistently work harder to destroy fiat's value?

Fiat around the world is heavily infested, broken, and burdened with:
-regulatory burden on fiat banks & system (incredibly costly)
-insurance fraud
-false claims and insurance losses
-unemployment & other welfare costs
-inflating fiat to keep stock market rising and to keep house-prices from collapsing
-financing conflicts, bombs, and "aid"
-stabilize regions after natural disasters
-keeping monopolies with internet access centralized and search engine crawlers centralized
-money laundering
-chargebacks
-frivolous legal costs (lawsuits bogging the system down)
-state-sponsored corruption and unofficial corruption (governments and gangs, banks and conartists)
-retirement obligations (debasement in value to keep up with payments from government or other retirement-obligations)
-fake credit (goods being transacted with credit-loss, replaced by inflation of monetary base rather than bringing perpetrators & source to justice)
-costs of auditors and budgetors and accountants to governments and businesses

Bitcoin, systemically, is free from these burdens.

At this point, you may be right - could it be considered free advertising?

If you believe in conspiracy theories then absolutely anything is possible, government sponsored actors have done many "questionable" things over the years and who knows, except themselves where the line is.

You can never really discount that possibility, but I don't think it has happened yet. I've observed that journalists have a love-hate relationship with Bitcoins. They write about how early adopters became rich when it's up, and how it's a bubble when it's down. It's typical media sensationalism, so I wouldn't credit those to some kind of a destabilization plot.

As for Dimon and the other FUD spreaders, they have an agenda to push, and isn't necessarily trying to kill Bitcoin's image in the long term. Most of them either want to manipulate the market, or are just plain haters.
