There is much talk about the user-UN-friendly aspects of bitcoin, difficulties with wallet use, security, general tech-UN-savvy-ness amongst most non-geek users (or wanna-be users) and the boards here are full of "OMG my BTC disappeared" and "WTF is going on?" etc which only proves how difficult using the clients and network can be for the uninitiated. The members on the boards here are pretty good at resolving problems, but when someone is panicking about lost or missing BTC, or having problems with their wallet... they get pretty urgent with their requests for help. I'm maybe a 5.5/10 on the tech-savvy side, so I've had my fair share of blips and burps using the system, there's always a moment of cold sweat and white knuckles before I can get my problems resolved. This is a major hurdle for the bitcoin community to get over if mass adoption is to proceed. People will not put their money into something they can't understand and therefore don't trust... so here's my idea.

A live, real-time, actual-human-on-the-other-end, 24-hour phone "help-desk" service. Like "dial-a-geek" only not useless and for bitcoin tech solutions only. It would be a paid subscription service and be available to hold the hands of n00bs while they get accustomed to using this new currency.

I know many of you on this board are into computers and tech in a BIG way, and I have encountered "geek-snobbery" occasionally here, but for people like say, my old nana, who want to be able to use the btc but can barely send emails, this could be very effective. See "social networking for senior citizens" and "facebook for golden age" type workshops that are offered at community centers across the country here (I live in N America) Technology can be intimidating to the uninitiated, and often leaves them watching from the sidelines.

Someone should develop this idea, you can have it for free, please make a fortune from it! feel free to tip me later if it pans out ;-)
