This will definitely going to impact bitcoin positively. The way to promote any product is to get it to media especially social media, tv and radios. This will add more value to bitcoin and crypto currencies in general. Hope to see another pump as market is currently at the accumulation stage.

This is strange that a hack has bring the Bitcoin to the media and now everyone has been curious to know about bitcoins and want to get few coins. The hackers for Wannacry virus never thought they could be promoting Bitcoins Wink.  I think no other way was possible and quick to make bitcoin on headlines other than this virus hack attack.
The only god thing about Ransome virus is this aspect, else it a bad day for the technology.

It was badly defined but it still left a question to other people who are witty.
They might research it and end up being here next time.
A good thing in a bad moment. Many have been popular because of this.
They tried to take them down until it fights back with an enormous gain.
If it reaches young people who are risk takers then they might did the best news ever.

I have seen bitcoin mentioned in TV and radio programs in the past hours due the ramsomware attack.

Unfortunately...

Did you see it on the mainstream media in your country? what did they say?

Absolute garbage as usual, mentioning Bitcoin only when something bad happens is terrible to begin with and describing what Bitcoin is erroneously just makes it all even worse. Mainstream media can't even get the basics right, I can only assume they want to steer people in a certain direction. It's impossible that they're not trying to direct people to think badly about Bitcoin when people go on TV to talk about it (for the worst reasons) and those people don't even have a clue what Bitcoin is. Extremely frustrating...

Bitcoin went from "dangerous and uninsured" to "dangerous, uninsured and criminal" on big mainstream media here.

Oh wow! Congratulations to Bloomberg, someone finally figured it out!

Because of the hypes and also the increase to its price it is one of the most common topic in some social/media sites lately because they are all getting curious about bitcoin and why it is so high on its price and some of them are getting attracted to the price increase of bitcoin and they are all investing in which is the best option that a newbie person can do.

I have seen bitcoin mentioned in TV and radio programs in the past hours due the ramsomware attack. Some people did a surprisingly good job at promoting it as a neutral tool and not as a tool for criminals, drug dealers and so on, so that was positive.

Did you see it on the mainstream media in your country? what did they say?

Im also wondering if all publicity is good publicity or not. Im not sure if the fact that being linked to the ramsomware thing is good even if it helps spreading BTC out, but most people are idiots and will not research further so it all comes down to how much of a good job the person explaining BTC does.
Wow thats great. Bitcoin is now introduced to them. They will now get interested on bitcoin and they will have an investment on it. And therefpre the demand might be increase as well.it will be more popular than the others. And i think the value of it will increase too.

Mass adoption may lead to price rise so its will be for the benefit of everyone. I'd been seeing a lot of Ico ads in every sites that I'm viewing. So in time many newbie will be here.

The media has been very potent in circulating news about a project whether the good or the bad but the issue about bitcoin is that when they propagate any negative news about it, I just have the feeling that they are only doing more in propagating the news about the subject matter because someone somewhere will want to understand what is actually going on about this 'thing' they are talking about while those of us already involved are not worried about the issue.

Probably with the last price rise and growth of popularity Bitcoin has become more interesting to media too. After all, they are always looking for new sensations.
But majority of them still publish only bad news connected to Bitcoin, like cyber attacks and ransomware so mar people still beleive that Bitcoin is something illegal connected with criminal activities. That should be changed.

I am from Russia and for a long time I didn't hear any news about Bitcoin on our TV. I take all information from the forum and sites that specialized on crypto-currencies.

Our media here don't even know what bitcoin is so I can't speak about that. I believe that this could be both as good and bad publicity. It really depends on the people watching it. If someone is close minded then he probably will believe whatever he hears on TV, otherwise he will look for it and understand how It works and eventually start using it.

Like what you have witness in your place I also don't see some news about bitcoin, but I have been seeing issues on the social media or internet bitcoin news about the particular new about the Ransomware that are still going on different country, criminals are really doing something and moving right now to get their selves a piece of bitcoin, The situation illustrates the growing pains of Bitcoin as its ecosystem matures, they are committing money laundering over a transaction, well I don't know why in OP's media why they would report bitcoin incidents maybe it is really taking up a pinpoint to them that bitcoin is gaining popularity right now.

in my country, bitcoin is really got some places for new investment but i think people thinking that bitcoin can make them become rich with fast. i think its because there are any investment programs that using bitcoin as the payment and they making deposit with big amount of money and suddenly that programs is gone and people thinking that bitcoin is only for the illegal and for scamming people. its only a few people that is still using bitcoin for good purpose like doing trading or just hold bitcoin, but i hope in the future, many people will realize that bitcoin is only a source to them to make their life better and they can make money from bitcoin.

Personally I haven't seen any mainstream media talk about bitcoin. People are still very uneducated about it. But I've heard a few times about cryptocurrency in the news but it was used in the context of crime and something illegal. We need more positive representation of bitcoin.

That's bad to know that it's still about illegal things, I have read some news and saw some links as adveryisement for ico's, i was hoping that there are more good news like having a job, or a poor turns into millionaire to make btc a good impact to the society.

Media talks broadcast on television or radio do not reach my country about this, Even if it is on television most people who watch certainly do not know what is bitcoin because here are many people who do not know bitcoin.
But if it gets to the point of entry into the media it will probably be the growth of bitcoin users here because they're sure to figure out how it works.
