I understand we can mine using cpus and gpus. Is there any other miners apart from this two that is available? Maybe motherboard mining, harddisk mining, mouse click mining? Haha

Not exactly mining, but there are coins such as Siacoin and Storj that you can use Hard drive space for. Pretty much you're selling space on your hard drive for the coins. For the most part it's not that profitable, but it's doable, and if you hold the coin for some pumps, it can be decent at least.

Yes all those and then some have been discussed, tried or done for years now, you can even mine with paper and pencil if your inclined to do so. ASIC is the mining end game for some coins others are designed to be mined only on CPU's or HDD's. GPU's are used because they can mine most coins and are readily available.

I am curious if and when we can mine with one of these bleeding edge boxes;)

"Mouse click mining"  -- https://faucet.raiblockscommunity.net     (manual mining ;p )
HDD mining -- https://www.burst-team.us/

you can also use FPGAs to mine coins that don't have GPU miner progs yet Smiley

There's almost a coin to use everypart in your PC by now, make sure check out "Curecoin" & Gridcoin as well for a different kind of mining (still cpu+gpu, but intresting WAY its done with those 2 coins)
