The world goes from a generation or two ago, eastern european i.e., ussr vs western european i.e., usa, to the current world of local economies that works out for now like asian economies vs american and european economies. A generation ago contact with Russia would have been the end of a president. Two generations ago Germany 3 generations ago some other country.

Is Russia really an enemy of the united states? Or is it that some people don't like Putin?

Maintaining good relations with a foreign nation can't be taken as a negative. Why some people want the US-Russian relations to remain in a deep-frozen state? In my opinion, Russia is not the number 1 enemy of the United States.

I don't know for how long Assad will manage to stay in power. But please remember that he is the last remaining secular leader in the entire Middle-eastern region. Once he is gone, the middle east will become a religious caliphate.

What evidence suggests that chlorine gas was used? Chlorine gas causes distinct and identifiable resputory injuries that werrnt reported, this was most likely sarin. Given the difficulty of manufacturing sarin in the amounts required for state violence (it is difficult but possible for the small amounts needed for small terrorist attacks).

And last but not least, is Trump not Commander in Chief? He would have to sign off on this, even though he has given more individual brevity to military officials to acts as they will. If not Trump, what elected official should be held responsible for this, in your opinion?

The Americans themselves are not bothered much about the situation in Syria. But three of their most important allies in the region (Israel, Saudi Arabia and Turkey) want Assad removed at any cost.

Perhaps it's time for Trump to show what he can do. In the election he promised he'd make America great and show the Russians that we have to reckon with the interests of America. Until we see that he can not do more and help Russian in the promotion of their ideas. I'm a bit confused, seriously. Is the deep state other countries Intel agencies too? I might not understand the term correctly, my apologies if I've misapplied it. If the deep state is just our Intel agencies, then again I ask, to what benefit? That would benefit our allies.

It probably wouldn't have blown on his face if it wasn't for the accusations of benefiting from Russian hacking sprees as well as suspected vote rigging. Him having these contacts with government officials there would also have looked off to some people. He has no prior government position to have as excuse for knowing these people, nor do I know of him having huge investments there (and even then, why Kremlin?).
