I've always believed immigration should be strict. You're moving to a different country, it's not like just going to the neighbor to have a chat. We've seen what happens when flow of people is unrestricted. Terrorists basically took advantage of the Schengen Agreement. Just look at them, opening fire in Paris and then moving on to Belgium to attack a store. Wasn't the suspect in the Berlin Christmas Market Truck of Peace incident the one that got caught in Venice? Well maybe they might not split along sectarian lines but they still do clash sometimes, like Turks and Kurds in Germany. Many of the fighting inside refugee camps are also based on ethnicity. Those that are already in Western countries might see the natives as a common enemy but the gov'ts of the countries themselves would have a harder time coordinating. They are more likely to use demographics than band together and try to take over a non-Muslim country.

I agree with that, even despite some language and tradition differences (Western Europe was traditionally Catholic while the East was Orthodox) they still have a lot more common, than say, with an Iraqi. No wonder people are coming up with conspiracy theories. Many of the "immigrants" are Muslims while the minorities that suffered from ISIS, the Yazidis and Christians, are mostly left behind.

I saw video of Christian militia coming back to their town and repair their churches.

That moment when they went up the dome and put up a wooden cross as replacement for what ISIS chopped off, in particular, sent chills down my spine.
