Sunni Muslims are only around 60% of the population of Syria, and they are the backbone of the ISIS. Despite that, 99% of the Syrian refugees admitted to the United States and the European Union are Sunnis. It is almost impossible for Yazidis and Christians to get refugee status in these countries.

Good luck with that now. After this incident, it's very likely there'll be no new talks with rebels there. The Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao was made after the government signed agreements with the MNLF - from which forth a new group with an epic name - MILF - sprang forth. This group is also negotiating for a much larger territory and more funds but as far as I see, any talk with them are looked at negatively by people here. Heck, even some Muslims ("they don't represent us")

This attack will sour people's opinion towards any sort of appeasement. Considering Duterte already have a lot of critics, he'll toughen up and try not to look conceding.
