Hi,

Since my friends have an idea that I am associated with bitcoin and I transact in it, they send me the stuff from the media if they come across. In most of the media pieces, bitcoin is mentioned as 'bitcoin is an unrecognised currency' and at that point, the people misunderstand that if it's not recognised (legal) yet then it's definitely illegal. I am bit confused, how to deal with such situation?

Mostly people who doesn't know some certain things would think that your crazy but the thing you need to do is to ignore them since they doesn't know the bright side what bitcoins have and we can't blame them to think that bitcoin is illegal since it has been used by most of frauds to become their blood payments for their bad acts. And if you think you get annoyed for the real fact about that then the thing you need to do is to ignore those lazy thoughs about bitcoins since you know for yourself how usefull this coin for you.

that is the media effect that will be with us for many years to come. many don't want to see bitcoin succeed because their profit is threatened. although if we want to be fair, this has been reduced a lot in the recent years. there was a time when most news was dark about bitcoin. now they are grey Smiley

Bitcoin is no longer excluded by governments, it is acceptable, and more user-friendly, its value is also increasing rapidly, which is great for bitcoin users.

Bitcoin is considered legal currency in most places as it is. Some places treat it as a commodity instead. Others have no laws or rules against using it specifically.

The TV and things that have been told there not always truth. We had many cases of disinformation by the mass media. I also have heard that bitcoin is new financial pyramid which fell apart already. It was in 2010-11 years.  From that time I heard a lot of different information, but I know the one thing - bitcoin is a life and we have to make money while it's so.

Well lately since Bitcoin started getting lot of unwanted attention even I was left to answer all this questions, bit then I decided, it's simple to persons who are reasonable I will make them understand that law has not found them illegal, it's just not recognised. Then the monkey brained people, I just reply ok, or ya, I see. And I walk away there is no point in spending your time on them, let's get rich while they choose not to. And honestly stop explaining, just say I stopped, or I see, Ok you are right and move on.

Your friends have misunderstanding about bitcoin.Any person when he first hears about such new currencies, they would definitely get doubt since we all have faced lots of scams before. So they relate it to bitcoins and think that bitcoin would also be the same.I think you too are less confident about bitcoin. You could see that japan being a technologically developed country has accepted bitcoin as a legal payment. In most european countries, you could see lots of people using bitcoins.Bitcoin would be the most used currency universally in future.

If bitcoins are illegal in my country they'll be worth a hell of a lot more. So who cares. If the government makes something as free as bitcoins illegal them they're God damn communists. Ignore all of the bullshit and make your own decisions.

There is nothing you can do if your government does not recognize bitcoin and there is nothing illegal about it using it unless and until a governments comes up and says that it is illegal like some dumb countries have imposed upon bitcoin without knowing what it is.People who are not into bitcoin will search for the negatives and nothing else.

If bitcoin is really deemed illegal by a government then you have to be really careful if you are dealing with it because you might end up in trouble in doing so and most of the countries are accepting the technology and will start accepting it,it takes time for them to understand how these technology works and upon knowing everything every country will legalize it.

To understand what's going on you have to realize why mainstream media have this or that attitude. Like why is it that they in general are against public freedoms and the right to carry weapons? Why the media hide the nationality of terrorists, cal bitcoin the money of hackers and black markets' without showing how useful it is?
If you see a presenter stating a fact, this fact has been discussed, assessed, voted and served on a platter (prompter) Cheesy they usually say what is in their best interest, and bitcoin isn't. They aren't getting paid with it.

Currently, no country bans bitcoin. Bitcoin is like a underworld, it is not in the rules of many countries, or in other words, it does not exist even though it is used. This shows the freedom of bitcoin.

I absolutely agree with you but I am as confident about bitcoin as you, I am just worried about the perception which media creating with the current uncertain stand by the governments. Yes, japan has supported bitcoin and I am sure many countries will do it too. Probably I need to look up in this matter to get crystal clarity about it.
