Is Steem actually profitable?

Have you actually used Steem before? It makes me wonder whenever you could make some serious profit out of it, or it would just be better off to look out for other ways to expand your earnings.

The concept of getting paid for social media content is cool, but I have my doubts of how much I could earn with the Steem platform, since I'm pretty new to it.

Also, I find it rather confusing having three different cryptocurrencies like Steem, Steem Dollars, and Steem Power. Could someone enlighten me in this by the way?

Nevertheless, I would love to hear your thoughts about the possibility of profiting with this new way of publishing content.

Its still the very early days of Steem, but its getting traction. And as the price of Steemit and Golos rise it becomes more profitable.

If I was starting a social media channel tomorrow I sure wouldnt start with Youtube, Facebook etc. Way too much competition and rules imposed by the platforms.

I'd pick Steemit or Golos (for Russian speakers)

1. Yes u can make money. A good post will make 50-100$. However u need to get some whales to vote for you which is not easy if u are unknown. In my experience it is a lot easier to make $10 on steem than anywhere else. However making real money requires work and dedication.

2. As to the currencies: its really simple. There is steem ans sbd. Sbd are worth $1 and steem fluctuate. Steem Power is just locked up steem. U need people with steem power to vote for u in order to get high pay outs.

I'd like to know if you can make money coming from views of your articles and what kind of views are they.is it coming from unique ip's only and is their a limit of views of the articles,it will be unfair if you only need votes coming from whales only.

Well i just checked the site and it is really aluring. I already registered and probably they said i need a confirmation email before i can try so i guess from these posts and from what i read you really need to get famous in that forum alone. I don't want to give my hopes up but i want to try it and see if i get lucky. It is really good for knowledge and it also has some btc info that is very helpful for this forum too. Steem is on its lowest price period. Its just few ago when steemit restarted it price back to 0.0001btc now its heading forward again to its previous All time high .0065btc

Among most of the altcoins that are listed to the exchange websites steem is mentioned as the one that is profitable. The price increase depending the market value seems to increase gradually and same as what happened with eth unexpected time the big pumping happens.

not much anymore in the early day of this coin there was an huge fest to post crapa nd get payd lol not so different than signature, but after the hacking all the blogs thing on steem when down and there was not the same profit to do, it's better to join a signature if you want to get payd while posting, it's more easy

but i did some calculations a while back (and this may not be perfect but) i made the conclusion that it is not worth the time and effort. if i can make quality material, then i'd rather make a website or a blog even and publish them there and use the traffic that the high quality content generates and some SEO techniques to earn money and that money will be a lot more.

In that case, why does Youtube exist? Why do people not just upload videos to their own website?

Because Youtube has eyeballs. Same with Steem and Golos

Yes it seems so. I believe that decentralized social media platforms are the way of the future, making them fierce competitions against traditional and centralized well known services like Facebook and others.

If successful enough, they could become a big hit as anyone would prefer to switch to decentralized solutions rather than all the opposite which tend to spy over their personal information, among other things for their own gains.

Thanks for enlightening me about this, mate. I guess that it would require a lot of hard work and effort (just like with anything else in life), but for the profits, it would be worthwhile.

As for Steem Power, I was wondering if it would be possible to convert them to Steem Dollars or it only pays out in Steem?

Agree. If Steem gathers a vast number of posters and becomes extremely popular, then it would surely increase the chances of profiting with it. Once people realize that decentralized social media platforms are the way to go, they will make the switch, eventually making Steemit mainstream.

Imagine if you would be able to make a living by just posting on the Steemit platform. It's going take a lot of hard work, but as you continue to build your Steem Power, you will earn more Steem leading your way towards never ending profits for the long term. Just my opinion.

When steem pumped a lot in the early days it was really profitable but now unless you are extremely popular u wont make much from it in my opinion.

Having a forum style where people will actually put thought and quality content into posts is quite nice.  Think about all the automotive repair forums, house repair forums, the list goes on and on.  Users are motivated to post quality content.

The Steem blockchain will not stay stagnant, instead grow legs and evolve.

True story my first real Steemit earning, back in the day when it was around 3.00, I had a $$ whale upvote my comment and made around $600.00. This was my third comment. So yeah I'd say you can make some money on there.
