It wouldn't surprise me if google doesn't make their own crypto currency and try to push it to the masses tho... It makes my wonder why golem... Anyway on the other hand it it is great when we hear something like this as we can notice that big companies, multi corporations are starting to get into the blockchain technology. First time I hear about goolge, but thats good news.

Why put it into Golem? Wouldn't it make more sense for XRP since they have a google wallet and they are making a banking service? Or maybe ETH since there is more development happening? Why golem I don't get it.

If they invested in golem it most likely mean they already have their fair share of eth, since i assume the ico required eth and maybe btc. Because it has potential ? Google has resources to investigate these projects. I own 0 golem tokens tbh.

Hmm thats interesting, Does that mean they put $8.6million into it?
I wonder why the likes of Google, Facebook, Instagram etc. dont create their own blockchain.
It is positive for sure that these GIANTS are throwing their funds around and getting into the technology, I wonder how many more are IN that we dont know about?

No, they did not put 8.6mil into it. It was an ICO. The amount they invested is unknown. A fair guess would be ~500k usd, not too insignifiant but not too much either.

I actually checked the price after i've read this, just out of curiosity. You call a 2% drop "drop like a rock" ? That's normal fluctuation. The only things that dropped like a rock are your saggy boobs

I'm 100÷ sure Google will never invest in this kind of pyramid scam. I'm 100÷ sure Google team could code this kind of stuff in a few hours if they choose to.

Ofcourse they could. I haven't read shit about golem, but i bet they're open source. So yeah they could clone them in 5minutes. But the big advantage of public blockchains is that they are not centrally controlled. Google wouldn't give users that kind of power, so most likely they would control the tokens / issuance, therefore people wouldn't invest, knowing they would be at disadvantage.
Plus, golem is still in development as i know so i doubt google would do the research work themselves. Which means, even if they did copied them, who would trust to invest in a copycat instead of the original ? There's a good example out there; counterparty vs ethereum. Counterparty team copied ethereum's code long before ethereum launched, and they are still years behind.

Sure they did. Google a US based company with 500 billion dollar worth is going to invest in an unregulated and not legal project and worst of all into its ICO! always a pleasure to google the news you share here mining1, they always act as a warning to stay away from etherum and proves the deceit...
