Hello.  I exchanged some btc for bytecoin via changelly.com.  I downloaded the bytecoin wallet for windows and entered my address into changelly, the exchange went through according to them but the bytecoin never arrived.  I sent a message to bytecoin support and have received no response.  Is there anything I can do?
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

contact changelly surely? they're the ones who probably screwed up. they seem to make quite a few mistakes but it gets sorted in the end.

i forgot to add that all they do is buy and sell on poloniex on your behalf. so if poloniex is screwed, and it often is, then so is changelly.
