Hey guys, Anyone in the UK interested in setting up a avalon chip group buy?

Smiley I know guys are doing it all over the EU - however would feel better if some local chaps could go for batch together.

I'd love to be part of this, I have hosting space available and the necessary contacts for PCB manufacturing etc, I also work for a private courier company (same day shipping available) so no problems with shipping! alas, I am waiting for my batch 2 avalons before I will have any funding to put in to the kitty.

At this rate, not many BTC for me  Sad

Hi

Thinking of setting up a UK Group buy for Avalon Chips.

Basic info

40 chip minimum order (this would result in a maximum of 250 batches about the most I would want to cope with, larger orders would be most welcome to reduce batch size)

Would look at 0.085 BTC per chip so minimum order 3.4 BTC this should include UK customs charges and shipping to UK address via standard shipping and packaging. Next day shipping would be extra.

This is for DIY and Hobbyists only but if some of the other projects come along and they can provide PCB's etc it may be possible to build some working units or supply kits, however at this point we are looking at chips only.

Please post if interested and will set this up. I am trusted ebay seller with (308) 100% feedback and also on localbitcoins 2 trades 100% feedback (I know only 2 trades!) as soon as the 782.1 BTC is raised would place order with Avalon at least 230 orders required for this.

Full refunds up to order placed with Avalon. Not taking any payments until enough interest is generated.

I am offering chips for sale in my group buy, found in my sig.

I have a few UK buyers, you may be able to pool your orders to send to a local fab to save on shipping.

I will be offering final assembly in the US as well. If you're looking for completed miners it may be faster to have the boards made with the chips once they arrive and finished miners shipped to you.

See my signature for thread link.

ASIC miners available for purchase

OK I have started this off. I have listed on Ebay Link here

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=281105126752

Unfortunately EBay would only allow 100 items to be listed which now results in 8.4 BTC per order for 100.

However happy for people to club together orders providing it is only one shipping address I have to ship to.

Ebay pulled it because they don't support payment in Bitcoins.

I was happy to do it but I think we have missed the boat on this one.

I am tempted to wait and see how this pans out. Looks like you need at least 16 chips for a decent hashrate of around 3.7Gh/s around £100 in chip costs. Then there will be the PCB and components so could be looking at around £200 to £300. However given the amount of chips sold and the other ASICs that are possibly coming on line the diffculty could be way up there by the time you are able to mine.

I am going to wait and see where this goes before commiting, you needed to be in early for this.

Chances are these will be selling real cheap in 6 to 7 months time. I can run of free electricity so happy to pick up these later for a reasonable price.
