Yes there were about 5 threads on the cryptohunter copy and paste of the proof provided to help prove lauda was lying about the premine. It was found sometimes he referenced it and sometimes did not reference it

Plagiarism has levels of seriousness

1. Not intending to pass it off as your own, like sometimes referencing the same quote. I mean clearly  referencing it sometimes is not seriously trying to pretend they are the origin.

2. Intending to pass it off as your own with no financial gain .. just to look maybe clever or cool

3. Intending to pass it off as your own for a purely financial basis like chitbitcity who was doing it to make up posts to gain his sponsor quota for max pay who seems to be back posting away with a sig on?
Anyway AFAIK chibitcity is not a proven scammer, extortionist, etc so even though he is a level 3 plagiarist he must have been deemed to have some net value. It appears even CH or Toaa agrees with this. I am not sure why.

I mean with plagiarism of any level intention is key and one of the most heavily weighted factors.

Now the key consideration with any punishment is net gain of the member when we match it against the plagiarism. The more serious the plagiarism the more net postive them member would have to have been. I mean a level 1 plagiarism and perhaps a totally neutral non achieving members would be fine.

For a level 3 plagiarism or even level 2.  Then a neutral member could have a problem.

A level 2 plagiarism  then you would perhaps need have done something a bit useful to counter your deliberate plagiarism.

For level 3 plagiarism a directly deliberate and directly financially motivated episode. Then I expect you would need to demonstrate you have been highly net positive to counter that type

Also some say date should be a factor due to it not being In the rules.

If admin has changed the rules for forum violations, please specify to me that plagiarism is no longer a violation. If this is still a violation, what is the penalty for a user caught in plagiarism? I was given 60 days of silence and 1 year of signature ban. Many users were permanently banned. And now...?

At the risk of going OT, I don't think banning individual users has much effect on forum traffic. Even now, there's over 11,000 unique users browsing the forum during any given week. While this number is way down from Dec 2017 (maybe 80%), total impressions from ads are down less than 50%. The forum seems to have reached a low point in activity in March, and is slowly rebounding.

Do the admins read these reports at all?
At some point someone needs to make a decision about these reports and we all need to move on with life.
Otherwise, we just waste time and energy on meaningless discussions and nothing changes.
If there are new rules for plagiarism, it would be good for the admins to tell us something about it
