110V power supply for Antminer S9?

Hey,

I just realized it needs 240V, in my country we only have 110-120V. Was wondering if there's any power supply with that voltage, or a 100-240V thing?

Or should I buy a converter? If yes, any recommendations or things I should look at?

I'm just starting the journey, any help is really appreciated.

Hoy, you can use any PSU with enough power and PCIE connectors. Try to search search in Economy > Marketplace > Goods > Computer hardware for some used ones.

It also possible to 2 (or even 3) power supplies to power an S9. You have to be careful with the total power draw, and how you wire it up so as not to have more than one suppliy for a single hash board. You also have to fiddle with the sequencing, but it can most assuredly be done correctly. It is more hassle than a single supply solution.

Safe approach at the moment be EVGA1600 it is $399 or so price and it is expensive, but it does work on 100-125V to power up S9.

1200W on ONE 1600W PSU is just somewhat scary.  You need a 20A circuit and the wires still get hot.

I settled on 2x PSU, one 1300W one 800W and I'm not as worried about melting down a PSU!

Here's a product for getting 240V from two 120V circuits of opposite phase:

While not cheap, it and a Bitmain PSU is cheaper than that EVGA. It can also help for using 240V only surplus server PSUs. Those really skilled with DIY electronics can make their own using only two or three relays to replicate the protection circuit.

I use the EVGA 1600 Watt PSU to run my miner it can be gold, platinum or titanium rated. The higher the level the more efficient the power supply is ie the more you will save over time on electric I have the platinum and titanium versions myself. I like them because they come with a 10 year warranty and in the 4 years I have been using them I haven't had one of the 30+ I have fail or give me any greif. The tech support guy said you can run it at 100% load for 10 years straight and if it fails well replace it so I do beat these things up and they are like tanks they keep on going
