First of all, GPU mining will be profitable in future ?
planing to pay 15k$ for video cards and whole systems.
Money should return after 6 months. LOL was thinking about this for a while

Thanks

First package just arrived  Cool , some good hashing power!

*365 days if difficulty only reaches 50 mill, and does so linearly.

As soon that those ASIC waves hit, you'll never ROI. The other problem is very quickly after, maybe 15 or so months, GPUs won't pay for the power they consume, where as older ASICs are still profitable because they use relatively nothing.

Only makes sense if you can resell the cards for enough money at the end. I personally wouldn't invest that kind of cash in GPUs today.

This kind of investment may make sense if you intend to mine alternate currencies based on algorithms that haven't had ASICs created for them yet. Smiley

Are we talking about Bitcoins or Litecoins here?  If it were me, I'll start merging into the LTC game.  LTC seems to be profitable for the years to come.

Your only chance of getting $$$ back quickly would be litecoins or another scrypt based coin that's asic proof at the moment

LTC mining needs more RAM ? im right ?

Depends on the mining software.  Reaper needs a shitload(tm), cgminer is fine with 2/4GB.  It does load the GPU's RAM more than BTC mining.

Not to be rude but you should do a little bit more of your own research on cryptocoins and maybe start mining with just one rig before dropping $15k on hardware. You can make so many mistakes in buying the gear, better to know the basics first.

buy 40 7950, and start mining litecoin, only way for you to make profit

i'd buy the 7850 and 7870's that are all on special/being liquidated right now

like this deal (that's expired now):

http://slickdeals.net/permadeal/94066/newegg-msi-radeon-hd-7870-2gb-gddr5-pci-express-3.0-video-card-far-cry-3-blood-dragon-bioshock-infinite-tomb-raider-game-coupons

$190 for 7870, $40-$50 for games coupon, then  you could sell it 'new' (you didnt use it, just sold the games) and already get more than you paid for it.

which is why it's good for bitcoin mining, since GPUs will be worthless "soon"

you can also get 7770's for around $50 after rebate+selling games, 7850 for $110-$120 after rebate+selling games

for me, it's good idea to buy these new 7870's and then sell used 5870's for more than 7870 cost

7870/7850 has the best kilohash-per-second/$ ratio (kilohashes assuming scrypt mining such as Litecoin) but you should probably get 7950's because you can get much higher hash rate per computer which will save you money in the long run.

Solo will be a bit hard still with Litecoin, however is still quite possible. Any other alt coin will be pretty easy to solo. 20GH/s will NOT be able to solo Bitcoin with any consistency, of course.

You'd get a block every day on average.
