That might be the reason. The site closure is for specific Countries around the world. Here it's not at all possible to access even the direct dice. This might cause other gambling website to become more popular as the number one betting site has stopped service. |

I don't think that's the reason because they were operating with many other coins too ( which has less tx fee) . |

Very strange. Now i'm curious since you can't bet anymore on directbet, how would they spent the freebet that they'll receive? Imo the reason they close is because of the network getting busy and the double spending issue that they keep getting. I think the fees aren't a problem for directbet because their lines are so juiced compared to other bookies. |

DirectBet I thought this was a hoax until i accessed the site a while ago which is displaying this same message. I read some red flags yesterday when someone on this forum complained that his payout was not given. He won on a bet but his payout was pending. When he inquired, he was informed that he did a double spend and therefore could not withdraw the payout. The same day, I placed a bet for two matches with odds totaling 52. When I transferred 0.01 btc, the bet was rejected and the bitcoins send to my btc address. From this, I now know that they might have been facing problems. |

If that was the case, they could have just started charging for the bets. That should fix almost all the things. A lot of other merchant bitcoin sites which used to offer free withdrawals started charging too. Even other gambling websites started charging. I don't think that can be the main reason if the whole venture was profitable for them. |

If that was the case, they could have just started charging for the bets. That should fix almost all the things. A lot of other merchant bitcoin sites which used to offer free withdrawals started charging too. Even other gambling websites started charging. I don't think that can be the main reason if the whole venture was profitable for them. Let's just what will be their action regarding this, I'm hoping that their decision of closing their site is just for temporary because they still allowed their site to run for a few days. And their announcement is unexpected. I still don't find another betting site that can replace them. |

I think the fees aren't a problem for directbet because their lines are so juiced compared to other bookies. since they did not reveal what is the real reason why ( which i think other sportsbook/any business company will not explain clearly about it ) , but if i have to make a speculation they are anticipating from a bankruptcy after have to pay someone huge win . i don't know what exactly , and they choose to reveal publicly about the clear and real reason why , just let's respect them have been in bitcoin community for years. |

Speculation on the reason why they suddenly close its doors keeps coming but as they said they are pursuing other things in life.We wont know what would be the exact reason on such closure.If we are talking about bitcoin fees i dont think it can affect too much since they are considered as profitable and top betting site.If theres one did able to manage big winning then its possible but i cant see any news about it  or just maybe they are saving their profits knowing on the current price of bitcoin. |

This is a huge set back for sports fans as this is the only site that accepts alt coins for sports betting and i really could not believe that they are closing the doors all of a sudden,what about the future bets we already waged ,will they be returning the coins,what is the real reason for the closure,really sad to see a sports book closing their doors,i think the main reason would be the increase in price for all the alt coins.

What a surprised!!! Directbet.eu is one of the trusted sites as far as sports bet is concern. I don't think it has to do with the high transaction fee's. They have been in the business for quite some time now so I think they know about the issue with the fees. I don't know what to speculate, we just have to wait if they are going online again with other alts as options for betting.
